long shot here but if you sayu the ghd's are new and they were recently bought by your dad is there any chance they cost more than a £100.00 and were bought on a credit card? Aren't good of that value insured by the cc co. maybe your dad could make a claim.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0

When you rule out all the if's and but's and maybes put in by the armchair barristers on here that can be the only logical conclusion.
I am surprised that the police are stalling on this. You have made an official complaint of theft and they should 'speak' to the engineer.
If you are getting no joy ask to speak to the investigating officers superiors and push it forward.

Many thanks for the info really useful and I'm sure we will make full use of it.
The police have been great and they were right on the case and the pc contacted me within hours of me reporting the theft. They would love to speak to the engineer which he, the pc thought would be straight forward but virgin haven't given him the info. He's explained that his has formally applied for the engineers name and address but has expressed concern at how long it will take for virgin to provide the information. He even said they were obstructing the police but that he can't take a multi national company to task about it over a pair of straightners. One good thing is that he sais he's determined to get to the bottom of it. I did actually think the police would just log it and then do nothing, so I am happy to be proved wrong.Kind Regards

This happened to my friend(except it was a mobile phone)and her husband is a solicitor.....they had to let it go because they couldnt prove it was the engineer who took it. Very frustrating.0

GHD's don't get up and walk out on their own...............
When you have ruled out all the possibilities the cold hard facts will lead to the obvious conclusion.
GHD's were in location X
Engineer was also working in location X
No one else was in location X
GHD's then stolen from location X
Culprit=Engineer
Simple Watson....Yes Indeed Holmes:D
