No doubt due to the callchecker, I can't register with 1899 as they have run out of capacity.
Perhaps the Telco's are using the callchecker as well!
this is a common problem with 1899. try again using you mobile numer to register, if it goes through okay, go back and enter your landline numer0 -

hi.
i have been pestered by homecalls about joining their scheme @£14.50 per month included BT line rental and free calls eve and weekends.
it's sound very interesting. can the number be override by 18866, that at present i use all the time?
any other provider better than homecalls? one.tel seems ok too, what about the overriding business by these new and ever better 1p/min numbers for international calls?
thanks to whome can clirify my mind!!!0 -

well i'll try.....
if you pay £10.50 line rental to BT that leaves £4 you would be paying Homecall for free calls whether you use them or not. So the Onetel offer
of a free year of evening and w/end calls along with £20 free credit is a better offer. Then use 18866 for your daytime calls. For international calls use the call checker to find the best rates. Onetel will allow you to overide for these calls, i don't know about Homecall.

I have been using the international call checker regularly and have also found that I am unable to get calls through, from my home line. The numbers are correct but there seems to be congestion. What I have noticed is that I can call (say Dial Around) from my mobile and get through, but calling from the home line I get the message that there is congestion. Can anyone explain this?
I also tried registering to get updates (as suggested on the message) on when the congestion will be sorted out but couldn't submit a correct telephone line, thus couldn't complete the form and write a comment to the company complaining of their lack of service.0 -
Thank's Endiburglass, I'll try that.
I checked the checker today, and Dialwise is missing from the Saudi Arabia list.
Dialwise's site still show 3p a minute calls on 0844 439 45 45 to KSA.
So I think it's still the cheapest.0 -
Martin maybe you could check this out for me.
I used the call checker to find out the cheapest calls to a mobile in Fuerteventura (my parents live there) Liquid Telecom came out best at 6p min. Once the account had been set up I called my parents for approx 1hr. I then went to my account at LTelecom to check the charge details and found that I had been on for 1hr 8min & 57 sec and had been charged £13.11.
Just quickly working out in my head 6p X 60 min should only be £3.60, I realised I had been wrongly charged. I called customer services to query this and was told I had called a Spanish mobile (Vodafone) which costs 19p min, I said that I had called a mobile that had been bought in Fuerteventura (which I confirmed with my parents) They then said that fuerteventura calls are prefixed 00 34 928 not just 00 34 when I asked my Mum about this she said that 928 was just the area code for Fuerteventura landlines. I also checked and confirmed this on a couple of websites. She also told me that as far as she is aware all mobiles in the canaries are ultimately owned by Spanish Mainland companies, therefore, I cant see how you can possibly call a "Fuerteventura" Mobile phone?
I told them that I felt that there price list was misleading and they should only charge me the 6p min, they were adamant that I had called a Spanish mobile (which in my account details the call was listed as to "SPAIN MOBILE - VODAFONE" )
I just think that they should have looked into this more instead of just fobbing me off with "well you did call spain"0
