HELP!
I am trying to call the telestunt number from an NTL line, I have done the suggested thing and called NTL to get them to update the system and access the number but no one there seems to understand what Im going on about. Is there another number I can ring to get cheap calls as I have been ripped right off for years or is there some kind of access number I call to get past the NTL system. Am I just being stupid ??0 -

Unless you're one of the unfortunates with a cable landline - from which it's 3p connection and 1p per minute.30 years, 217 days!0 -

I just tried to use telestunt to call a mobile in Pakistan, both the callchecker and the telestunt website say its 7p a minute if I use 08717727676.
So when i dial the 0871 number i am prompted with the message that the call is 7p per minute, so far so good, but once i dial in my destination number 0092300.....I get a new prompt telling me its now 15p a minute!!! whats going on!!! is this a mistake or something more sinister???0 -
on the mobile section posts say you can call Pakistan at no cost from your mobile with simplyphone by dialling 07744974363
's gotta be the cheapest . heh. :j0 -
Simply fone is only good for Mon - Fri (7am - 6pm) plus if you have extra free cross network minutes not any good if you want to call outwith the stated time frame e.g. on the weekends.
My point is to do with telestunts mis representing the facts i.e. from an advertised 7p per minute to an actual cost of 15p per minute thats a 114% increase in cost for the user.0 -
I've justed checked the 18866 site and the cost of calls to Saudi have gone up to 6p.
1899 is still charging 4p so it's the cheapest now. Could someone update the callchecker maybe?0 -
I think there's a more pressing need to revise the presentation of results.
For example, the results when checking for the cheapest way to call a Spanish landline are presented in the below order:
Just Dial - National Rate - (0870 794 0000)
Telestunt - Lo-call Tariff - (08452445050)
Ratebuster - 1p/min - (08447202020)
1899 - 1p/min
Budgetcom - 1p/min - (08448612612)
CheapestCalls - 1p/min - (08448611313)
DialAround - 1p/min - (08448615353)
Telediscount - 2p/min - (08444628181)
call18866 - 2p/min
Telesavers - 2p/min - (08444625252)
Alpha Telecom - 3p/min
Liquid Dial Account - 3p/min
Onetel - 4p/min
Simply-Fone - 4p/min - (08449014333)
Liquid Dial Direct - 5p/min - (08447790005)
BT - 20p/min
Although I appreciate different telcos charge different rates for so-called National Rate and Lo-Call Rate calls (0870 and 0845 numbers respectively) and that some charge different rates at different times of the day and/or at weekends, there is no way that either warrants its place at the top of the list.
Yet that is the way they appear - despite the fact that a so-called National Rate number is never the cheapest and a so-called Lo-Call Rate number rarely is.
Relegate them to the bottom is what I say!
Update 2228 30/3/05, Martin has agreed a revision is necessary - see HERE.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
