(((((((((((((((((Ticklemouse))))))))))))))) Men... you can't live with them but can't live without the one you love either
Hope the window won't cost too much to replace!
I'm currently supervising DD painting on the dining room table (:eek::eek: ) I haven't put newspaper down as its a melamine table and needs a good wash anyway. So far we have a mess, a dragon (for OHs office since he won't have a picture of one) and the start of a countryside picture
I am under orders though that I need to find a picture of a dragon for DD to copy
Ah well, another load of washing waiting to go out on the line but a very impatient little girl waiting next to the printer for a picture of a dragon so guess which takes priority :rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Afternoon everyone!!
I've had an ok day today.
Did some baking though managed to burn both the flapjack and Norwegian Apple cake. Waste not , want not though. We'll just have to eat it burnt!
DS is grounded today. OH has him doing DIY. He's already sanded an uneven wall and is at the moment PVAing!
Of course there is dust everywhere. They've also trimmed the hedge out the front.
I've been lthinking Christmas....and so have been searching on line for pressies.Actually quite a nice thing to do.
Have done 2 loads of washing. Dried one, another waiting to go in.Sausages, mash and frozen mixed veg with fried onions and mushrooms and gravy for dinner!0 -

(For those of you either too young to remember or who have a life, we're talking about Marvin the paranoid android from Hitchhikers)0 -
Today saw the beginning of my return to part time hours - having worked full time for the past few weeks when I'm not at all used to it.
I've raised some invoices (how, when I've not done any of my own work for a month?!), had my hair cut, and shopped around for some decent haberdashery places. Don't know how "decent" they are, but there are 2 shops and a market stall.
We're sick to death of the home grown cherry tomatoes I planted in 2 hanging baskets and we've started to give them away - by the barrel load. How can such little plants produce such a glut?
And I convinced MisterHolic that we shouldn't pay contractors £500 for something he can do ... which means the shed base will be eons away.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Just beware of husband's doing DIY - it invariably cost more in the long run0

Actually, Tickle, MisterHolic DOES tend to cut through the cables - on lawn mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers - and more than once too. He's generally quite safe mixing concrete though. He does it by hand.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0

Good evening all
TM sounds like you're going through it at the moment.....run yourself a nice hot bath and lock the door on the world for an hour or 5!
I'm with MATH on Charlie and the chocolate factory....really enjoyed it and so did the kids....give me Johnny Depp anyday!
We had a really non OS start to the day by popping to pizza hut for buffet lunch (was yummy too) then off to the cinema to see Herbie (most enjoyable) It was bargin tuesday at the cinema so saved £10 on the tickets. Popped into town to get DD2s school shoes and went to book a hair cut for DD1 and myself, but they were empty so we had it done there and then......I normally only have a trim at a local hairdressers once every 3-4 months and pay £7 but thought I'd treat us both to a proper grown up salon hair cut.... Good job they didn't tell me the price while I was within reach of the scissors. Mind you it's a fantastic cut so I shall let them off.
Came home and decided to make an "everlasting rumpot" from my preserves book. Basically whole peaches, chunks of melon, raspberries and grapes with equal amounts of sugar into a large jar (last xmas gerkins were finished earlier in the week) and covered in rum.....you leave it for at least 3 months to mature then can use the fruit in puddings.....as you take fruit out you're supposed to add more fruit and sugar and just keep it going......will report back at xmas as to how it goes!!
Made some nice HMbread sarnies up for tomorrow to take on our picnic....going a bit further afield this time tho....going to sit on the beach in France....it's only £20 for a day trip for the 4 of us and a wonderful sail in the sun across the channel.
Hope you all have wonderful evenings....."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
hello all you OS people
hasn't the weather been nice for a change, it's great for the kids to have some good weather before they go back to school, mine are back next Monday
went to Costco yesterday, stocked up on the white vinegar
and their minced beef too, it's the end cuts from their Aberdeen Angus Steaks so tastes just gorgeous and much the same price as ordinary mince from butcher,
off for my hair cut later today ready for the Edinburgh meet, got a really good hairdresser, I have it cut very short and spikey and it obv doesn't take much drying so she just does the cut rubs some gel through it and knocks of £10 for not drying it
thinking of doing a carboot in a couple of weeks got loads of stuff not suitable for e-baying and even if it all goes for pennies I should make a little bit,
off to pics tonight hopefully on Orange 2-for-1, I always work a Wed night so never get to take advantage but swapped this week due to meet so will be nice to get into pics half price, any advice on what's worth seeing?
hope the weather holds and you all have a happy dayI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
