  • Hey

Very hot here in London today :D Nice breeze going through though. All washing dry and upstairs to be put away. Bought some of the New Bold huge box that were on special BOGOF at Makros a few weeks back...paid £11.99+Vat for 2 boxes and each do 135 washes  Smells lovely too.

OH & DD went into the town today to send some parcels off from ebay and pay some cheques into bank account. They had a voucher for Burger King Double bacon cheeseburger BOGOF so 2 for £1.69 (1 each for DD & OH) and then washed it down with a Starbucks Frappichinio thingy (BOGOF voucher)so had a Burgerking and Starbucks for £4.18 = £2.09 each  It was only a small treat but cant moan at that price and last time DD had a burger was a few months back..lol. The they popped into Lidls on way home as we needed some spuds and all fruit and veg is half price. Got a 7.5kg bag for £1.09. They bought potatotes, bread, milk, eggs and tiramasu deserts and total came too £3.22 :D I havent needed to buy anything else this week and have a big shop from Asda coming next Tuesday. Im very please with myself and freezer still full of stuff too.

Have just bought a huge chest freezer and thought it would be more economical to fill this. OH has suggested freezing everything milk, cheese, ham, bread etc so that maybe we can get away with either a 3 weekly or monthly large shop. Ive never done this since we were married 12 years ago.

Also have a BM that I have never used and would like to start baking my own bread. Does HM bread freeze OK?

Have just realised car tax is due end of sept so thats another £170 to find  but have adjusted a few things in my Quicken money files and we should just about manage it :j

    Hope you all are well.

It's in Edinburgh. More details HERE

I haven't managed to do anything very Old Style today myself. Will rustle up a homemade veggie bolognese for tea.

Gave away my first item on Freecycle yesterday so slowly starting to declutter the house. ;)

    Hi pepps,

Today has been a bit of a disaster, I had booked the day off work to take my sister to Northampton where she will be going to uni next month so she could look round and familiarise herself. All was going well, we were driving merrily along in the sun when the dial that measures how hot the engine is went higher and higher until it was off the scale. I pulled into a layby as soon as I could and called the AA, they weren't able to get there for over an hour. When the AA man got there he confirmed that the head gasket has gone and said it will be several hundred pounds to replace :( Then because we didn't have relay cover we had to arrange for a company to tow us back home, that cost £125 (but it could have been worse, he was a mate of the AA guy who runs a private garage, but if we had got the AA to do it it would have cost £250 instead).

So then waited an hour and a half for the towing man to come and he towed us home. So pretty much the whole day gone and wasted on nothing. And I had also booked tomorrow off work to do some promoting for my business so that I would have Saturday free but now I won't have the car I have no choice but to leave it till Sunday when can use OH's car.

I know there are worse things in life but it has got me down a bit, I even got home too late to be able to properly make the most of the sun and sunbathe outside.

    Heigh ho, tomorrow's another day.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
