Boo, back to work. My boss is visiting up here for a couple of days, so I'm chauffering him round today & tomorrow. With any luck he'll buy me dinner tonight!

Morning all - had a busy weekend :D

Sunday we did the monthly big shop (I got "paid" on Friday so I knew we could afford it) so the cuboards, fridge and freezer are bulging at the seams. I've even got some things still sitting out on the worktop as there isn't any space in the cupboard for them! Spent £61.43 (which includes filling the freezer with frozen veg - we haven't been eating much fruit & veg lately so at least we now have it in!) but have a £20 note in my purse for "bits" and this Thursdays shop (fruit, milk, tin of coffee). We could really do with me going out and getting some binbags (I get the fragranced ones from a local shop instead of the black binbags from the supermarket - it actually works out cheaper ) but instead I'm going to use up some of the billions of carrier bags that we have ;)

Sunday we had a HUGE roast dinner (extra large chicken from Asda  ), left over veg, gravy and chicken kept and turned into "Bubble & Squeak" (with extra veg from the freezer cooked while heating up the leftovers - all in a 3-tier steamer) and cold chicken with hot gravy. I had promised pudding both days as well but I wasn't up to making it - time seemed to run away from me!

OH and I weeded the garden yesterday. It's mostly paved so it was a hands-and-knees-with-a-knife job but didn't take long with two of us :) Then I set too on the beds of veg - I've taken alot of the leaves off our tomato plants as there wasn't that much light getting through to the tomatoes and picked 10 that we big and green to ripen on the kitchen window-sil. This has also meant I've been able to get some grandular feed right in between the plants so they should buck up quite a bit now. I harvested the beetroot (by accident actually) but only 2 were worth it :doh:I've harvested half of the carrots & Parsnips and we'll be having those tonight for tea. I've also harvested most of the spring onions so we may be having vegetable stir-fry for tea tonight

Playing school with DD today, and if the weather holds out I might let her outside with the paints and wallpaper to have some fun this afternoon :shhh: But first I have a credit card to pay and Microsoft Money to update _pale_ Bye for bow

    Morning folks :hello:

Well, I'm still with you but pretty exhausted. Yesterday was my grandpa's 90th birthday party and I was supposed to be helping. Trouble was that there were so many people that I hadn't seen in quite a while that I was talking most of the time (evidently the dodgy gene in the family as neither my mum or grandpa ever draw breath!).

I've packaged up some of my ebay bits and pieces that have been sold. I can't believe how much some people will pay for things that are effectively second hand. Ah well, it all helps the cause!

Got to go into town to post these items and then go and sort out our council tax - because we're moving at the end of September, we're hoping for a nice, cheap revised bill!

Also, got a stack of ironing to do - where does it all come from?:D

PP - WOW! They're pretty fantastic bargains that you got yesterday.

    See you folks later.

Back to work for me too, last night had roast duck (courtesy of tesco ;)) with all the trimmings, plenty left so it's probably bubble n squeak for tonight. Another mate is staying over for another resit, i feel somewhat like Dr Banardo at the moment :p All's good though!

Hi Yall, Good to see ya back TM. Sorry the vacation wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Never mind only 51 weeks till the next one:rolleyes: And it's not everyone who comes back from hols lighter than when they went.

I've been away for most of the summer only popping back to the mids for 2 weddings, an 80th birthday and a funeral - maybe someone should make a film about it? But I've kept a beady eye on ya from behind me windbreak. Not able to pop on as much now with Mrs MATH being at home all day with the flimsy excuse of looking for another job, so I have to at least look as if I'm busy all day:D Never has so much bread/yoghurt/jam been made by one person.

As predicted I crumbled and gave in when I found a Delonghi programable slo-cooker with so many functions it makes the space shuttle look like a skate board at a car boot in Skeg for £4 - well who wouldn't have cracked?

Now spending many an happy hour braising mystery meat from the bottom of the freezer and stripping the local brambles with the kidz as if it is soon going to be outlawed - well they did it with Fox hunting who's to say Blackberries arn't next.

Not one for swimming with the tide I know I'm probably alone when I say I really enjoying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? I thought it great and my three kidz agreed, although they don't consider the original a reveered classic like wot Mrs MATH does (she wasn't very impressed!) Willy Wonka is a bit darker in a sort of transvestite, drag queenie kinda way but not to dark 'n' weird cos my 4yr old thought it funny but then you havn't seen his two grannies! But even they are not as scary as the gigantic spiders currently assulting me knocker to come in. If you thing your leggy friends are big try living next to a wood. I swear you could ride on their backs:D

Kidz back to skool tomorrow- as they leave by the front door I shall be dragging me steam cleaner through the back in my crusade against grime 'n' crud.

    Have a good day.

    Morning all.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, hope all the ailments are improving and welcome back TM and MATH. Some great bargains P-P, have a good rest today.
We had a good weekend but I'm paying for it now. joints just won't work so today I shall be doing next to nothing.
Over the weekend we did the big food shop at Sainsburys and Aldi, I love that shop! Sunday we tidied the garden, I cut the hedge and picked the bits up with my grabber stick, must have looked funny but I don't care. Yesterday I got bargains at the outlet place, gorgeous Pierre Cardin shoes, pale blue pumps with pink butterflies, for £14.99. 10 pairs of knickers from M&S for £9, 3 books for £9 including a craft book and bread recipes and a map for MrW. Came home and cooked a huge dinner for DS, we will have leftovers today.
Trying to decide whether to do a washload but I think I'll have another coffee first. Oh, forgot to say I bought a blank artist canvas so I am am going to be creative when I get round to it.
    Have a nice day.

I picked some more brambles this morning and have pizza dough in the breadmaker.

Made a pizza sauce with tomatoes, onions, garlic and mixed herbs and have mixed peppers, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese for toppings.

Amazon have a sale on so ordered a 512 memory pen/stick for DD for £19 approx with free delivery.

Being badgered to take daughters to Staples later today for last minute stuff for school.

Grrr - moneysavinghusband? - NOT!!

Having been and bought a hedge trimmer today (well, OK, boys and their toys etc) he decided to do a bit of hedge trimming in the back garden! He hasn't cut through the wire (yet) although this has been known on previous occasions, but we are now one double glazed window down courtesy of him putting the ladder through it!

Why oh why do I bother? Maybe I'll just sell him at a boot sale. 10p anyone? Useful as a doorstop/burglar deterent - snoring noises only as he'd sleep through the actual burglary!!

I'm off for a quick scream somewhere - the attic I think whilst I sort out my boot sale stuff :(

Crikey!!! How on Earth did he manage to break a double glazed window!!!

Sorry TM - not having the best time at the moment are you love. Here you go, have a hug - sounds like you could use it.

    (((((((((((((((((Ticklemouse)))))))))))))))

PS. If the hug doesnt cut it then try a very large gin / vodka / insert spirit of your choice here.

It's amazing the way some weeks things just pile up one after another and it never seems to stop.

    It does stop, however...

..besides - after the first twenty years you stop caring :)
