  • Moggins, sending you huge hugs. Hang on in there and keep communicating with hubby, and letting him communicate with you too, and you'll get through it together. Glad you're getting some counselling, and I'm sure it will help. The fact that you know your control freak tendencies are part of the problem will hopefully be the first step to letting go of them a little bit.

Maybe you could send some of them my way? I need to be super organised from next week and I'm not enough of a control freak at the moment! :)

Oh MATH, I can still remember that day when your baby leaves to join he big world, hope he enjoys big school.
Moggins, sorry you're having problems hope you feel better soon.
C-Q lovely to see you back, hope you're a bit better.
I've just spent 2 hours skinning tomatoes to make sauce. I've put peppers, celery, onions and garlic in the slow cooker with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar a slug of olive oil and the tomatoes. Last year I didn't skin the toms but then I had to sieve the sauce which took ages. I've got loads more toms still ripening and the carrots in the window box are great.
I'm not doing much again today, joints are still bad. I might sit outside for an hour and get used to the sun ready for our holiday in 4 weeks time.
    Have a good day.

(((((((((((((((Moggins))))))))))))) We're here for you. Keeping you in my thoughts and DD said she'll say a prayer tonight for you to get better (she wondered why I was sniffing and had tears in my eyes - the slightest thing sets me off lately - so I explained ) :o

So far I haven't achieved much more than what I had last time I posted :rotfl: but there is another batch of dishes done (only the grill pan and dinner -which we're having now - left to do :D ) and the last load of washing is in and nearly finished :T I've spoken to DD and we will be having a "Clean up the house" afternoon and I'll be teaching her how to clean properly with a slightly damp microfibre cloth as she's promised to do the dusting while I hoover, tidy, and clean the bathroom  OH woke me this morning to inform me that the bathroom needed cleaning as he had just had a purple bath; he didn't rinse the bath out last night after giving DD a bath after her painting so it's his own fault :rotfl:

In the middle of downloading Turbolister updates (which I will do again on the 11th - put it as a task in my PDA so I'll remember) as it always needs updating! Then I think I'll go and clean the bathroom while DD watches...erm...Bob the Builder and Tweenies and finishes off her lunch (mixed fruit & banana chips  ) and drink.

I'm wondering whether I can rearrange the bedroom to make a side to put our new-to-us 21" TV on :D. A neighbour of my mums had it going spare and after convincing my sister (who lives on her own) that she doesn't need a third TV we got it. That is now in the livingroom and our old one is now in the bedroom with a plastic cover over it (better Feng Shui apparently) waiting for us to get the fitting for the end of the TV ariel - then I can watch TV in bed ;) I might even treat myself to another freeview box :shhh::naughty:

Did you pour boiling water over the tomatoes before skinning them?

    Moggins

Of course you are likely to want to be in control of as much as you can when you feel that you are not in control of your own body. Good luck with the counselling and we will all be thinking of you.

Home made loaf made and 2loads of washing on line.
Bathroom cleaned and 2 lots of dishes done in DW.

Thanks everyone for the support. I've always had control freak tendencies due to a childhood filled with abuse but after being slung on the breast cancer roller coaster they have gone haywire and I'm not letting anyone else help me out and then losing it big time when things don't go exactly to plan. DH is a placid soul who can't cope with these 'temper tantrums'.

I will get there, I just need some professional help to work through this. I think I really need to take the house off the market though as trying to sell the house and cope with dh's new job and weird hours and the kids holidays and now getting them both off to new schools isn't going together very well.

  • Hi Moggins

I totally understand where your coming from. I too had a horrific childhood full with abuse and still am affected severely now by it all. It never goes away and the smallest thing triggers me off....a noise, smell, sound, film etc. I am unbearable at times and my OH must hate me. Fly off the handle, curse, im am awful...i am surprised he hasnt left me, but when you hate yourself so much..you try to push away those that most care about you.

I dont have cancer but have Lupus, Fybomyalgia, Oestiaporosis etc etc and I feel I have been dealt a very unlucky hand in life..lol. You seem to get over one hill then theres a mountain to climb. I do hate living some days but my DD keeps me positive and know I wouldnt be here if it wasnt for her...she keeps me relatively saine

I have been in pschotherapy for the past 3 years and it has helped me so much. I dont like talking about the abuse but has helped me realise that there are many people who have been through things similar.

We can not change the past but we can the future :grouphug:

moggins, use those family and friends when they say they want to help!

They really do mean it and not only will it help you but it makes them feel better for being able to do something to help, believe me, I know icon7.gif

Well, off to start a 24 hour cleaning dash for some VIP visitors. Really could do with that troup of cleaners than Kim and Aggie take about the country with them.

But, hey in another 24 hours it will all need doing again so who the heck cares, far better to get out and smell the roses icon12.gif

    Hi Everyone

At work again today. Normal shift of 10-6, but back on breakfast tomorrow (5am-1pm) with a meeting at 6.10pm:wall:

It's too hot for me today. Thankfully most of my morning I was out and about reporting. This office is just the hottest place to be.

Just had my lunch - brought from home naturally.

Another 2 hours to go - will I make it or will I melt first?

    hi everyone

not bee around much lately - work has been busy so no time to read that forum
:( Anyway, finish up a week tomorrow and in the process of having broadband installed so all looking good - being a student I'll have more time to read and post!

Moggins - hope things start to look up for you. All the advice above is good. Good luck with the counselling.

glad - I want to see Crash at the cinema. It's had decent reviews. Otherwise madagascar is soooo funny.

zziggi - I LOVE steewed apples. Please may I have some? :)

MATH - it must feel strange with all the Mathlets at school full-time. hope that they are enjoying themselves

Edinburghlass and Glad (and anyone else going) - see you tomorrow night. I am excited to meet you and I am looking forward to a good chinwag :) Oh, and meeting the infamous Ivan :rotfl:

I'm off to finish off a report, head home via B&Q to buy paint for my 'new' sitting room/kitchen (aren't Dad's who do DIY amazing ;) )and then a quick trip to IKEA.

After that, it's a tesco finest chicken and marscapone thing (a yellow sticker find that's been in the freezer for a while!) with new tatties and peas for dinner. Although yet again penny-pincher you have me hungry with your description on dinner lol.
