ahhh I see
I thought you'd traded in your DS (dear son) for a DD (dear daughter) as she'd be more use to you doing the chores etcI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Hello all -- what a miserable day - it's blowing a gale and been raining all day. Feels very wintery and DH was asking if he can put the winter duvet back on!!!
I've been working today, so 6 of us stuck in the house.....a friend turned up with her 2 kids too so as you can imagine "pit" doesn't go anywhere near to describe it! Never mind eh!
Whilst little ones were napping this morning I managed to get the larder cleared out, wasn't too much to get rid of but gave it a good sort through and clean. DH kindly scrubbed the fridge out for me, sorted out the top cupboard that I can't even reach on a chair and made a yummy smelling turkey curry which is bubbling in the slow cooker.
Got a bit distracted yesterday and didn't get to the farmers market until 11am by which time most things were sold out!!! Did manage to get to the fish van tho and got DD's a crab to try - needless to say they didn't actually like it - so it got mashed up while they weren't looking with some tuna and sweetpotato and normal mash and made into fishcakes for their tea....which they duely ate and asked for more!!
Have sorted a huge pile of stuff for our boot fair on sunday - it's a village one that we all do on our drives ...they call it a boot sale safari...they print maps of all the houses doing it....was great fun last year and over 80 people have booked for this year...saves having to get up at the crack of dawn too as it starts at 10am and you just plonk it on your drive......means you can nip indoors for homemade bacon butties too!!
Off out to lunch tomorrow with DD's and to pick up a DVD - they want a "snuggle on the sofa with a duvet" afternoon...guess it's the effect of this weather....but hey - I can sit down for the afternoon and eat copious amounts of homemade popcorn and rice crispie cakes...who am I to complain!
Ohhh and before I forget, I managed to actually find some food flasks yesterday, in sainsburys, stainless steel ones at only £3.95 each....we picked up 4 as DD's are relishing the idea of taking stew or soup or even baked beans to school for lunch....DH tried them yesterday - put just off the boil water in at 1pm.......opened it to check at 6pm and it was still steaming hot....
Anyway - hope you've all had a wonderful day and have a great evening."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
We are off on holiday tomorrow so today was a very OS day, washing done overnight, but I had to dry it in the dryer, it was pouring with rain.
We were out at Wilko's and Tesco by 9.00am then a quick trip to the library, the bank and home.
Cup of coffee and I was upstairs to clean the bedroom, bathroom and stairs. After lunch cleaned the living room, baked scones and lemon drizzle cake and boiled/baked a piece of ham, made lentil soup with the liquor.
Supper, chicken tagliatelli, nectarines with ice-cream, cup of tea, then cleaned the kitchen.....phew, I am shattered but we are almost ready to go tomorrow, just the odd bits to do in the morning and then we are off to France for just over 2 weeks.
See you all when we get back..... happy OSing...............

awwwwwwww sorry to hear you had another terrible night PP.
bet you cant wait for the cleaner to start....i must say though i think you do terribly well!! you put me to shame most days and im perfectly well and able just have the excuse of two kids ages 2.5 and nearly 5 months.....need a kick up the bum to get remotivated i think!!
not too sure what today brings really i have a lot of stuff i need to do but what i'll get done i dont know.
breadmaker is already on and apples are cooking for pureeing for dd2.
need to photograph things for ebay....about a million things...uurrghh....but the ebay pile is now literally taking half of our bedroom over.
need to do several lots of washing but just looked out of window and its odd! look to the left and its black and does not look good...look to the right and it looks lovely!! im going to give it an hour or so and hopefully the good side will win out :rotfl: trying to cut down on using the tumble dryer until winter and needs must,so would rather leave it if not nice.
promised dd1 that we would make paper plate animals and that we could go to park.....that must be done or i'll never hear the end of it or get anything else done anyway :rotfl:
got several phonecalls to make in relation to orders, complaints etc.
will definately vacuum all over.
ironing mountain still looking very imposing.
hmmmmmmmm gonna stop listing jobs now before i cry!!
hope you all have good days.0 -
Off to work with OH again today - only one cupboard and a software inventory to do :j If I see one more "kettle lead" or computer mouse or cable tie I think I will scream! :rotfl:
OH took me to the ASDA Superstore in Wigan yesterday  You could fit our local ASDA in the George & Music department! Have decided we are DEFINITLY moving to somewhere in that area. The houses are lovely (if a little expensive), there are great shops and it has a friendly look about it - already spotted a bakers, greengrocers but not a butchers () on the way to ASDA from Orrell so I'd be very happy. If I could work it so that DD could be looked after in someway before/after school, I'd even go out to work full-time just so we could move out there. I saw one house and thought "WOW, I want that house!", looked it up on the internet and decided "In my dreams, lets look at the budget houses " after seeing that the price tag was OVER £100,000
GCSE results day so its going to be a bit busier in the school today and we're leaving early to try and get there before the kids start queueing up outside the door at 8am apparently! Why they do that when they can't get their results until 9.30am I don't know. Time to finish my coffee, clean my teeth and head out. OOoo...forgot to say that HOPEFULLY I'll be going to the QVC outlet in Birchwood shopping centre after work, if it all goes well. :shhh::silenced:

Morning all. Had quite an OS day yesterday, made loaf in bread m/c, also made some scrummy breakfast cereal (got the recipe from Asda mag) and then did a sticky ginger cake with the little one to keep him occupied. Tea was chicken, hm pot wedges and veg then off to work for a rest. Not planning on doing too much today, will put a loaf in on timer to be ready for when we get back in. DD want to go to either the swimming baths, library or museum. Library is looking favourite so far cos it's free and within walking distance! Have already spent too much keeping kids occupied in the hols. Gotta email M&S now to see if/when my school uniform order is going to arrive. Have fun y'all.0

Hi there :hello:
Sorry to hear that you didn't have a great night PP, but exciting news about your new cleaner starting tomorrow. You've coped so admirably, you put the rest of us (well, me) to shame.
Well, yet another day of very little OS. It's gloriously sunny here so my friends and I have decided that today is the day to go punting in Cambridge. Fingers crossed it stays this nice...................
I am beside myself with excitement at the moment because 3 of the 4 things that I've put to sell on ebay are selling! If someone isn't careful then they'll be paying more for one item than I paid originally NEW. Just don't tell them that, okay?
Well, I'd better go and get ready.
See you folks later.
