Morning everyone,
Driving two youngest to Grandma's in Lancaster today. Not very os using all that petrol. ( Am I the only person who resents spending money on petrol!!?)
But once their gone hopefully will get some of the house sorted out. DH gone to work till friday evening so thats another one out of the way and the lodger is doing a temp job all week so maybe I can get my two eldest DD's to muck in!!
Managed to get 6 meals cooked and frozen yesterday. Got to sort out dinner for this evening and shopping list for this week and then a list for school uniforms....feels like all I'm doing is spending money!!0 -
morning
feel very bad as I ahvn't posted on this thread for a while - mainlt because my os hasn't been very good! ooops.
Anyway, I have a pile of ironing to get through this evening and I am planning on experimenting with dinner - thai curry made from the bits and bobs lying around the bottom of the freezer. That should be enough to help push me back in the right direction.
Penny-pincher - your lunch alwyas makes me really hungry. All of a sudden my squashed sandwiches appear even less attractive then normal!
The breadmaker is brilliant, although the recipe booklet definately need a few 'adjustments'. I am dying to try out the cake recipe though - perhaps one for later in the week.
Right, back to work.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Twp loads of washing done and dishwasher emptied and filled again!
Been out picking brambles and elderberries.
Elderberry jam is in breadmaker (fingers crossed)
Brambles are waiting for me to make jam and an apple and blackberry pie.
Ironing is waiting reproachfully - but I do not feel like it - so there."This site is addictive!"

Morning
I just finished sorting out little uns toys.... taken me 3 hours!!! I now got to list loads of my crafty bits into turbo lister ready to put onto ebay for the 5p listing day! I hate doing it but im skint so need to lol
I also have to venture to Tesco's later. I'm moving house soon and have to furnish it as only have a bed and washing machine! so im going to see if i can get anything for the kitchen....i have £13 of vouchers to use too so hopefully that will help. Trying to furnish a house with a virtually non exsistant budget is awful
Right should go put washing machine on i guess.....would be sooo much easier if this site wasnt so addictive lol

The main stipulations are that everything on offer is FREE, and that you must post an OFFER before you can post a WANTED. Since you don't have much to offer (or do you? Books, records, tapes???) - maybe buy yourself a 2nd hand bookcase or something that you could use anyway if nobody takes it - then, when you're ready to move - start posting your wanteds.

Edit: BUM. There isn't one in Scunthorpe. You'll have to find a town near you - or start your own group.

Hi there
I would be tempted to use Soda Crystals rather than bicarb of soda as the crystals are a bit more heavy duty. If you use v.hot water from the tap and dissolve them in the bath that should do the trick.
I wash my bath out with soda crystals & v.hot water every now and again, gets rid of trapped hair, soap scum and so on.
BTW don't use boiling water from the kettle in the bath in case it causes damage to your bath or pipes. Hot tap water should be OK.

Bicarb washed down with some vinegar - it'll fizz quite a bit. Leave it for an hour or so and then pour a kettle full of boiling hot water down.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Hi
Well the weather has stayed nice today and all washing dried and put away
Ordered one of the 6.5ltr slow cookers from my catalogue and received today...its massive  theres only 3 of us  Couldnt say no though-was priced up at £32.99 then I had a £20 voucher with free delivery, so only paid £12.99and 20 weeks %0..lol. I had my old slow cooker for the past 4 years, but is quite small compared to the one that arrived today. It needs a new home if anyone would like it
Do the bigger ones cost more to run etc? I just cant believe how huge it is-was such a good deal and I will be able to cook a whole joint of meat or chicken in it. If I was making a stew-would i just put in the same amount as I did in my old one and it would just not be as deepYes...i know Im thick but i keep having brain blips and just making sure I dont kill the bloomin thing
Penny-Pincher!!

Back from driving.
Grandma paid for fish and chips for lunch...would have preferred petrol money but never mind.
I was given a huge slow cooker from my aunt in law...she gave it to me cause it was too big for the 3 of them and she kept boiling stuff dry.
Maybe you just need to put in double and then freeze or maybe cook for a shorter time. Just guessing though...0 -
Penny pincher
Check the instruction book - it may tell you that it needs to be at least half full."This site is addictive!"
