    Morning All

Yay, I have finally made it on here during the daytime again, the last 2 weeks I have only made it on in the evenings when it seemed a bit pointless adding to this thread at that time:rolleyes:

Hubby goes back to work this afternoon for an 8 hour shift, I am terrified at the prospect of being left on my own with a 16 day old Spud:eek::eek::eek: On the other hand I am looking fprward to trying to start getting some kind of routine established. I know it won't happen instantly and it will very much be 1 step forward 2 steps back but I feel like I am trying to take a bit of control of life again :o
So I guess the plan for the rest of my day is to try & get Spud down in his crib for a couple of hours this afternoon (so far he hate sleeping in it, we are trying to get him used to it any which way we can), followed by a freezer dinner ( still woking my way through the pre-birth stockpile;)) and this eveing pay bills & sort out online banking etc which has all been neglected since Spud arrived. Somehow we are finding it in us too keep the house reasonably presentable & tidy, sop the chores haven't built up too much, just odd bits to do. It's amazing what you can do whilst waiting for a sterliser to complete it's 5 min cycle:D
Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

I just made mine the same way as bigger ones and where the recipe said 35-40 mins cooking time, for example, I checked them at the shorter time. Mine were just mince and onion so it might depend on quite what you have in them. Oh, and some egg and cheese flans which were slightly over done - so mabe check five minutes before the recommended shortest cook time?

  • Hello
Yesterday we had a nice day at warwick Castle. We parked by the river and had a picnic first. The Castle is great loads to see and do, we watched some jousting which was great fun, so a great day was had by all.
The cost to get into the Casstle is £45. (We would not have paid this but we had some nectar vouchers and a bogoff voucher so we paid £27) plus £3.50 to park the car. The "ghosts alive" experience would have cost another £10 but luckily we persuaded DD's that this would be too scary for them! :rotfl:
Everywhere you looked though there were tents selling kids toys (plastic rubbish I call it) hot dogs, burgers etc, the carte dor ice creams were £2.95! Luckily OH was well prepared and had his rucksack filled with drinks and crisps etc, even my DD1 (age 9) agreed £2.95 for an ice cream was OTT. Also I amazed how many kids were dressed from head to toe in Gap, Next, etc. Both DD's had some pocket money from their nanny to spend so we finally took them to the shop just as the shop was closing, and it was like a rugby scrum with children determined to go home with something. At least my DD's are quite good at budgeting their pocket money to get it to stretch a bit further. They are not so careful if mom + dad are paying!
I am not going shopping to Aldi as DD's are spening the day with nanny and grandad and I can shop in peace.
    Have a good day all.

Afternoon all,i know i dont post much or contribute to any threads but i do read them everyday.Done my store cupboard challenge menu for the rest of the week as im preparing myself for septembers pin money in a few days.I failed so early into augusts pin money challenge im determined to make this one work for me.Im finding it very hard to adjust to going old style but a little at a time i should get there in the end.Its also so time consuming peeling veg and stuff when im used to buying ready meals or take aways.

Hope you all have a great day.
  • Hey

I cheat with my pies

Normally I use left over chicken (just the left over meat on 1 leg and wings)then put in fridge covered for upto 2 further days, then put some butter in a pan with some chopped up leeks and onion. When softened I add the chicken then add 1/2 tin of drained sweetcorn, then add a tin of condensed mushroom soup (stock up when on bogof) and add half a tin of water so it stays quite thick. Roll pastry and put in pie dish, add chicken and top with pastry. Put in oven for about 25 mins, serve with mash and cabbage.

The above chicken is also nice with rice, pasta or a jacket spud.

So far today, all washing done and dried in TD-weather very bad from 9ish here. OH & DD went to library, paid some cheques in and sent some parcels off at post office which i sold on ebay. DW emptied and another 16 items on turbo lister, ready for 5p listing day tomorrow on ebay (30 items so far to go on  )

Have to go get my blood tests done at 2.30. Im on warfarin as I had a blood clot a few weeks back...its gonna take upto 6 months to disperse  they have to check my INR levels and they seem to be all over the place at the moment. Need to run my blood at 2-3 times runnier than an average person. Never mind!

    Have a great afternoon.

Omega...I buy the plain and a packet of baking powder.
Really the Self raising is just for convenience.

This morning I sowed my mustard seed out in the veg plot. Its meant to be green manure so I just dig it in to the mud when its ready. It looked like a huge packet when I bought it but it only did 1 and 1/2 beds.Yesterday ,I made a bottle bird scarer to keep the tweeties from eating the seed. Its just a plastic bottle with flaps cut all round and stood on a pole .I painted it to look like an owl so hopefully he is doing his job out there :D
Ive been painting CD's to look like big eyes too.All over yellow and then black for the pupil.I wonder if that will fool the birds?
I made a fruit loaf in the microwave for later.I found a half packet of bread mix (from when we were on hols) and added currants and cooked it for 6 mins in an Iceland chinese takeaway container(looks like a little loaf pan).
The washing is hanging from the airer on the kitchen ceilng today as its pouring outside.
I need to get my PC defragged and virus scanned so I'd better get on with it!
