I've had a wonderful day, drove to Cheltenham to meet some mums from another website and we had a lovely day. A day out with the kids for less than £8 and that included parking, coffee and ice creams
Came home to whip everybody into action as the in-laws were coming for tea. I whipped up a chicken and broccoli pasta thing and MIL brought plum tart for pudding with plums picked from her own garden
Just going to get the littlie off to bed as she is driving me nuts, DH is snoring on the sofa as he is poorly.
Going to take the kids blackberrying tomorrow if the weather stays good.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Have just checked the manual and it says "The slow cooker must be at least half full for best results". My other slow cooker was I think 3.5 litres and that was nearly full when i did stews, cassaroles etc...so that should be OK
Thanks

Big slow cooker problem - you can cook a small amount of food in a pyrex dish, put water in the normal bowl around the pyrex one0

Hi everyone,
Went to RHS Wisley today - as, it seems, did nearly everyone else. It was jam packed because they had a flower show on. We get in free because OH is a member so it is a cheap day out and the kids like running round on the grass. There is a notice at the beginning saying 'no picnics' (except in the designated picnic area outside of the gardens, by the car park). We just put our rug out anyway and enjoyed our picnic, like about half of the people there! I think they want you to buy their (quite expensive) food because they have no problem with you eating that on the grass - just not your own!
Have a good evening every one.

Morning PP... big kiss for you *mwah*
Today i plan on doing absolutely nothing as i have tonsilitis and the cold from hell. Its took me long enough to haul my !!!!!! out of bed and get dressed.
Think it might be raining too much at lunch time to lug all the parcels over to the post office on the other side of town so i will post tomorrow... hopefully i will be bit better by then.
Going to let OH take care of me today and i daresay i have another dreadful day at work today.

'Morning everyone :wave:
Hope everything goes well at the hospital penny pincher, and ancaster .. go back to bed and get well (sometimes we women struggle on when we should be taking care of ourselves!)
Pouring with rain here .. but managed to get several washloads out, dried and ironed yesterday.
Spent the whole day yesterday cleaning and sorting. Thought we'd have a car boot on Sunday so the whole family has been involved in sorting. I just have our bedroom to do this morning and then I'm going to have a rest;).Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Since DD is away and I'm going to work with OH (yesterday I got filthy and I'm sick of powercables and computer mice but had the most delicious pie for lunch!) we decided that we would treat ourselves to a meal out:o We went to a Brewers Fayre pub right on the River Mersey and managed to spend £30.52! :eek: We had a "To Share" combo for starters, then I had "Cajun Chicken" and OH had duck, half a pint of carling and 3 bottles of coke (I don't like Pepsi and thats what they have on tap) later we were stuffed. This morning I woke up and I don't really need breakfast, but since we forgot to eat lunch yesterday I though I should have breakfast incase we do it again!
Got to go now as OH has just got out the bath, we have a 40 minute commute and the school gets the GCSE results in today (for their reference) via the internet in preperation for the paper copies coming tomorrow morning and they're expecting problems based on previous years experience.
Have a good day all. Dont' work too hardCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
:hello: Morning everyone :hello:
Well, we're moving! I'm so excited. The new house is small, but perfectly adequate for our needs. I can't wait! East Northamptonshire here we come :dance: :dance: :dance:
It's pretty miserable here today, which isn't great as I'd been planning on going punting with some uni friends. Punting is miserable weather probably isn't the way to do it, so plan b is to try to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the cinema.
Still got stacks of house work to do now, mind. And as we've definitely got this house we're moving to I'll have to start contacting supply agencies for work.
Spag bol tonight with minced beef from one of the butchers in our "new" town.
As it is, at the moment, I need a large :coffee: ! See you folks later.

Yesterday turned out to be reasonably industrious OS-wise:
- Used the apples from mum’s tree to made a batch of puree for little-un and an apple cake;
- Also whipped up some choccy fairy cakes for the freezer (to help use up the eggs of course!) (Will freeze the remaining 2 eggs after I’ve done a search to find out how – think you just need to separate them?);
- Cleared the ironing (with a little help from dh);
- Also added to PMS by doing a Mystery telephone call.
Got a quick question for the baking veterans out there: is there any advantage of using SR Flour over Plain flour + Baking Powder. It just seems a waste of cupboard space to stock 2 types if there’s no real advantage and have been subbing quite successfully.
With dd safely walked across to Nursery (and, she looked so cute in her oversized rain mac if I might say so myself!) and dishy set in motion, must get on with paid work.
Definitely household paperwork this evening – leftover salad from Greek Salad Pitta Pockets for lunch for me (dh generally makes his own sandwiches for lunch), ratatouille with a third of the Feta for dinner.0
