morning all!
Sounds like everyone's been rather productive already this morning. Not here, I'm afraid. Having a complaining day. Bought a kettle from asda that doesn't switch itself off when it comes to boil. They said take it back and they'll replace it. Don't want a replacement, want a refund. Grrrr. I don't have the receipt any more either.
I think I'm just down because we decided to swop dd over to formula in the daytimes and it's making me realise that she's not really much of a baby any more. Plus formula is SOOOO expensive, and much more faff. GP seems to think it'll be better for me as I can then let someone else feed her and give myself a bit of a break. Sigh.
Laundry for the morning is done. We'll be going to Tesco later if the rain lets up.
Oh, and the good news is my work has been sufficiently fruitful over the summer that I get extra benefits in the autumn - woo hoo! at least something's going right. Post's just come. Am I lucky today?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon
Well DD & DH set off for the zoo at about 9am. I sent them with a sarnie each, a packet of biccies & crisps for car journey back home later. DD also made 2 bottles of squash...shes learning..lol
Before they went I cooked up sausages, beans, egg and toast to set them up for the day with a glass of OJ. Was quite chuffed as I used the new seat my OT got for me and I could sit right at the hob and I felt like I had done something. Cant stand for very long as its too painful. DD & OH were very surprised and DH kept saying let me do this and that...i refused and told him to go sit in lounge and wait for breakie  .....had to admit defeat when I had to ask him to bring plates of food in as I couldnt lift them..lolIt totally whacked me out but feel like I have achieved something today :j
2 loads done and have been finished in TD as very rainy here. Also have a sausage cassarole in slow cooker(asked OH to get some sausages out last night-so he got the whole bag out 20  ) hence sausage for breakfast and dinner tonight and probably sarnies tomorrow. Well at least there getting used, a few months ago they woould have been binned
Im off to have me lunch-roast chicken and all trimmings (did a small plate from yesterdays dinner)and watch some TV.
Penny-Pincher!!

Went to the shop to buy a new bulb for the fridge, brough it home and it doesn't work
Will take it back later and try another one as I forgot to buy binbags becuase DD was hassling me about "her horse has come into the shop instead of staying outside" - kids imaginations
DD is packed and ready to go to IL's - SIL's car has broken down (she's only had it 2 weeks as her last one was so unreliable!) so other SIL and her boyfriend are coming down in his car. He is a STAR! This is the second time he's come down to pick DD up on his day off! He's definetly getting something for Christmas as a thank you!
We're supposed to be buying a car from a friend who said he could bring it up here on Friday as they'll be going past on the way to Blackpool for the weekend - the same time as I'll be in work with OH and then going to IL's house  Something has to be worked out but what is still up for debate. I see a long night tonight trying to work out a way around going to the building society (open 9-4.30  same hours as OH works in a nearby town which is a 40 minute commute!), getting the car insured and taxed, and all the way to Liverpool from down Colchester way  Do you think David Copperfield or Blaine is available? :rotfl:
Now I just need to finish the dishes, put some washing in the machine, go back to the shop for another bulb and binbags AND pack DD off with SIL...counting down until I am free. Don't get me wrong, I do love her and I will miss her, but the thought of not having cbeebies/DVDs/Videos/CDs playing in the background while I try to work, or having her jumping all over the livingroom (She's currently learning to fly apparently which involves jumping in the air and on the sofa/chairs in her trainers and clapping her hands fast as she shouts I can fly ) and shouting and singing and generally making alot of noise and mess is sooooooo soothing and I'm going to enjoy my holiday from being a mum even if I am going to work with OHOh nooooooo....its the Tweenies!!!!!:eek::eek: NOise level has just gone up to jet engine level - I didn't think one child could make so much noise and mess!

It's raining heavily here today so I will just stay home and rest and try to get something achieved
not sure what though!
Hey Ember.

Hi Ms_London
The back massage was great! Cost me £20 for a half hour aromatherapy massage but it was well worth the money and cheered me up no endI've been feeling sad since losing my cat who died few weeks ago, tired with looking after new kitten and trying to kill off a virus that has been laying me low for almost 2 weeks now. It's not been the best fortnight but I feel a bit better for the massage.
Thanks for your kind wishes,
Ember xx~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
afternoon all, am feeling rubbish today after waking at 3am to throw up for no very good reason at all. Obviously there was something in my system that hasdn't agreed with me, but as I'd only had cheesy mash at 8pm I'm at a loss as to what. Anyway I managed to burst a blood vessle in my eye and lots of little blood vessles round both eyes (so I look like I've been punched by a lot of midges!) and I've a stonking headache and a sore throat. Uck. I suppose at least that once I'd emptied my stomach I was able to clean up and go back to bed without any reoccurrence.
I've had a sandwich and a pint of milk today and my innards are feeling fine, so I just need to contend with my aching eyes, sore sinuses and sore throat- I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself if you hadn't guessed...
Anyway, I made 12 christmas cards last night which all still looked nice this morningand I've left my craft stuff out so I can make some more this week and feel all industrious! :A
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Hi all.
Nicki you make me laugh with tales about your DD.
I have 2 DD's (6 + 9) and I know exactly what you mean. The only thing is its lovely when they are not here for a few hours but then I start to get withdrawal symptoms!
My older daughter has finally gone off CBeebies in favour of CBBC, but youngest still likes cBeebies so at the moment we have fights about which channel to watch. I find tweenies etc is on much less now though and I miss it....... (Not Barney though, his irritating songs buzz around my head for days and I find myself humming them at work even)
Well I havent done anything today at all, I havent cleared away breakfast things or made beds or anything. I have refused to make DD's their lunch because they wont go and get dressed and are still in their PJ's! So now Ive read this thread I feel so lazy Im going to get up immediately and go and do something productive. The fact that the sun is now shining instead of pouring with rain is also helping to get me up.
Tea is going to be chicken curry, last night I made beef and yorkshire pud, (beef in slow cooker, was delicious) and Im ashamed to say that I have always bought McCain homeroast potatoesbut after reading another thread I followed the instructions and made some perfect roast pots, I couldnt believe I had made them! No more McCain in this house from now on. Also froze a massive bag of runner beans from my uncles garden. He always grows loads but he doesnt like them, so my freezer now has enough for the entire winter. :T
Im now going to make a start somewhere...........0 -
Made a loaf in breadmaker - pizza dough has just finished and picked a load of brambles - covered in nettle stings but worth it..
Will make more jam as DD says it is great! :j"This site is addictive!"

Hi everyone, no I haven't just got up it's been a bit of a long day driving all the way to Norfolk and back for a meeting. Approx 8 1/2 hours behind the wheel so don't plan to do ANYTHING this evening as rather tired.
You all sound like you've had very productive days today, most impressed. I will try and do a bit of ironing before I collapse in a heap on the sofa.

Hello everyone,
Had a laugh this morning (well it was all I could do really) as I took Mum to hospital for her eye appointment. After dropping DS off at a ridiculously early time at holiday care I picked her up, we struggled through the rush-hour traffic, finally found a parking spot and were standing in the queue to register at the outpatients reception when she got out her appointment card. It said 9am Tues 23rd August. To be fair, mum was really upset and apologised profusely. So, tomorrow we have groundhog day!
Nothing too OS today. £20 spent on holiday care, shop sandwich for lunch.Chilli from the freezer for tea - every little helps I suppose. Still painting hall stairs and landing. Carpet is being fitted next Tuesday so we have a deadline to work to.
Just got my reward vouchers from my M and S card. £8 to spend and no interest incurred as I pay off in full every month, so that is quite good.
Take care everyone and have a good evening.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
