Went into Lakeland this morning to buy jam jar lids and labels - used up the elderberries and brambles that I picked yesterday and made 20 pots of conserve (bramble and elderberry) only 8 oz pots though.

Family are very impressed but have not tasted it yet.

DD just gave me 3 washloads of stuff she needs for Monday:confused:

Finished cleaning cooker etc. so indulged myself by coming on here where gave yet another person my "money spell" by pm - all I get is bills at the moment apart from winning £100 on premium bonds.

    Hi everyone,

Jo, what about your local library, not the Uni one, just the county council one? They usually have free internet access, although you have to book it in advance, but this is just a phone call. Worth a try?

    I agree with Chickdee.

I know that South Glos Libraries offer free internet access. As long as you are member.

Kingswood does and Cadbury Heath does wracking my brains if Hanham does. I have never needed to use it. Can even print things out.

I assume that Bath city centre library offers the same. Been years since I was regsitered with them.

    Morning everyone,

PP - Well house is clean (or clean enough!) so today I'm having a craft day. Planning to make a vast pile of Christmas cards for both giving and selling.

I wish I could have a craft day - have got visitors!! Do you sell many of your cards? Can I be cheeky and ask where you sell them and are you able to sell many? I love making cards and am always looking for ways to sell more of them - hope you don't mind me asking :o
  • Morning All :hello:

Well slept downstairs last night-roll on the stairlift

Have 2 washloads to do and hopefully weather will hold off. DH nearly done with DD decorating :j , 20 min blitz, toilet cleaned and floors swept. An easy day today..lol.

Have a half leg of lamb for dinner, so will do, HM roasts, mash, carrots, cabbage, HM yorkies, parsnips, stuffing, mint sauce & gravy. Im suffereing from malnurishment at the moment too-I will do an extra plate with a small serving on for tomorrow. Trying to eat 2 hot meals a day but doc said it will take a good year for it to get to a normal level  with the other bits wrong with me-i need shooting..lol.

Should be enough lamb left for a couple of sarnies and a lamb curry tomorrow :T OH got a tray of meat from our locals butcher last saturday (half leg of lamb, lamb chops x 8, 3lb mince lamb, 2 medium chickens)got the lot for £20.00 (very cheap!) as they were auctioning it off as they were closing. Should be able to get about 15 meals plus some sarnied from that lot. I normally get my meat and poultry from Waitrose when I can get there £20 off a £75 shop as I find their meat quality superb and with the voucher it works out very cheap and normally feeds us meals for about 8+ weeks.

    Anyway, have a great sunday.

    'morning Penny Pincher :hello:

Glad you slept a lot better last night :D

It wasn't until I read the threads this morning that I realised that I'd forgotten to get the meat out of the freezer. Won't have time to defrost a joint now, so we'll be having liver and onions :o We bought a quarter lamb at the farmers market a few weeks ago and are running out (ready for the farmers market next week). All the lamb is delicious so no doubt the liver will be too. I have HFW's Meat cookery book so I'll be doing some experimenting later on.

I always get up early (around 5 am to 5.30) but today I'll be dragging OH out of bed early too to get to the car boot by 7.30. I love the early morning wonder around the stalls. Youngest daughter has just passed her A levels and got into her preferred University. She's deferred her place so will be going next year - to give her time to save some money and get her bits and pieces. She is vegetarian and has opted for self catering - so today I am looking for cooking utensials, bowls etc. Having kitted out my kitchen at car boot sales, I'm looking forward to doing the same for her. I love a bargain :D

    See you all later folks!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning my lovelies.
    Chin up PP :)

Nothing too OS today, off into town with OH to spend some of his birthday vuchers and some of my "pocket money" on some well needed work clothes and i might treat myself to a face pack from Lush.

Got some bread in the oven and the timer has bleeped so i shall report back later

Have a good sunday everyone :j
  • Feeling rather fragile this morning but it's all self inflicted so I can't complain! Went to a salsa party last night and danced until 1am but by the time we'd given lifts to all the people OH had promised we'd take home I eventually crawled into bed at 3am.

Anyway have managed to separate myself from the duvet and just off to church now. Am meeting some friends for lunch who I haven't seen for a while so not very OS but should be a lovely day.

Enjoy the nice weather if you've got it where you are - it's beautiful here at the moment.

Up at 7am - three loads of washing on line - 2 loads of dishes washed -dough for bread rolls rising-jars of jam all put in cupboard after I had washed it all out and tidied it to make room. Bed stripped and preparing picnic.

DH thought it would be nice to go to country and seaside and also put flowers on graves of great great etc grandparents(150 years ago).

Have been rushing around so giving myself a few minutes to post on here.

    ((((((((PP))))))))) ROFL @ Rshon

SO tired this morning, I fell asleep on the sofa last night by accident, woke at 6am to find DD1 hadn't loaded the dishwasher last night so I did it then, went off to bed and got woken at 8 by someone doing building work in their garden. 8am on a Sunday!!!

Nodded back off again and got woken by DH coming home from work at 9, snuggled with him for a bit and then got up to prevent the kids killing each other.

Going to take them out blackberrying this afternoon, must stop and buy some sugar at the same time.

morning all, have been decidedly un-os this weekend because I'm coming down with a cold and feel icky... I've been eating whatever's in the fridge though so I'm still on track for the store cupboard challenge!

I did roast my Kohl Rabi though and it was quite nice altogether. Not my FAVORITE veg ever, but not bad :D

I've got some friends coming over for a commitee meeting any moment now then I'm ensconcing myself in the kitchen - 7 days of greatbiglong shifts at work and I'll need at least two meals for everyday so I need to get cooking and freezing!

(((hugs))) to all those that need them (even if it was self inflicted... :D ) and have a great day all!
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...
