T-Mobile Retentions

Hi there, i'm a first time poster!
I'm just coming to the end (2 weeks left) of an 18month contract (Flext, ~29 quid a month, Blackberry Pearl).
I'm pretty specific about what I want from them if they want to hold on to my custom. ie. a Curve 8900 or 8520 (apparently T-mobile will get the 8520 from tomorrow or so i'm told by their rep), with blackberry push email and internet for the same price or less than i pay now.
So far they 've told me there's no chance, and they have offered me £35/month for the 8900 (their original offer was 35quid plus 45 quid for the 8900 handset). In the meantime, they have discounted 10 quid off my line rental while I think about it.
As soon as I see the 8520 on their website (hopefully tomorrow) I'm going to ring and ask for my PAC unless they can meet my requirements. (I have seen 18month deals on CPW for 30 quid, after all).
Any ideas of how far i should push them? Or techniques to get a better deal?
cheers guys :T0 -
am i likely to get any better offers over the phone than the upgrade offers i am getting online?0

yes definitely.
you only get the best offers when you ask to leave and request your porting code from them (to transfer your number to a different network)
Sorry my friend but this is not the case - requesting a PAC code or to cancel is not seen as some sort of threat - the agents within t-mobile has to stick by policys that are in place. If you are through to the Upgfrades department and your not happy with what the agent has to offer - and you request a PAC code - then you will get a PAC code. If you really want the best deals to offer then use the automated service properly when calling t-mobile selection option 5 (other ) then option 3 ( leaving/taking your number from T-mobile) this will put you through to whats internally called THE SAVE DESK who will offer you more deals which currently include PSP, Wii's PS3 ect ....0 -

Wish you luck.
I've just tried the same, moving from combi £30 (£30 per month) wanting a blackberry curve. I wanted them to match the current CPW offer of Orange Panther 30 600 mins, 500 texts and 500MB data to include emails. This is a special deal through Orange and CPW that would normally be £30 but is currently £20. They could do it for £30+£5 but couldn't get near the £20.
Unless you have a special reason for staying with T-mobile, you may be better off getting the PAC code and going in to CPW.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Currently an offer on in t-mobile for 800 minutes + Unlimited Texts + Blackberry email + 8520 free for £30pm on 18mth contract
BB email booster has an allowance of web access which is fine if your are only browsing websites & sending emails ( so no need to pay extra £5 for w'n'w ) - as the files that are downloaded are compressed more on Blackberrys own server than normal browsing on a non blackberry phone. Therefore not as much allowance required for standard browsing when using a blackberry with the blackberry sevice0 -
Coming to the end of my first contract with T-Mobile so have never experienced their retentions dept.
I am after the HTC Hero/T-Mobile G2 Touch on an 18 month contract with min 300 mins, 100 texts and internet/email, has anybody got something similar recently?

Hi guys, not a retentions thread but it is related and hopefully you guys can help out...
I recently took an 18m tmobile contract on the G2 Touch through affordablemobiles.co.uk. The plan was Combi 20 + Web n Walk for £25 a month
I just got my first bill and it has come to £30..
Rang tmobile and they say that the G2 has to have the Internet Plus add on for an extra £5 hence the £30 bill.....
I am now really confused why I have to have Internet Plus if my phone already has web n walk...
Are there any other tmobile G2 owners who can advise if you have this problem or now?
Cheers0 -
standard is 1GB, plus is 3GB limit.
Its all bollox though, they wont stop you at 1GB. I'm sure all but the heaviest downloaders are fine.0
