T-Mobile Retentions

I've think I've just discovered a little loophole on the T-mobile Solo tariffs enabling you to get unlimited texts on the £10 tariff.
I signed up in January on the Solo 20 with 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and I've not been using anywhere near that. I called them this morning to downgrade, and was told that because I'd moved down from Solo 20, I would actually keep the unlimited texts! (It sounded like that's how the system works, rather than a retention deal - I was staying with TMO anyway!)
I also got a £5 web n walk booster for 6 months added on, so for £15 per month, I now get 150 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
can anyone calling them just ask for a quote on the nokia n97 and see what they get offered please?0

I'm on Flext 20 with a 25% Go Direct discount. My contract ran out 2 years ago and I've had this phone for nearly 4 years.
If I were to upgrade and agree to a renewed contract would it remain exactly the same, specifically would I retain the 25% discount?
The free phones have changed in the last week and there is one I fancy now!0 -

And be prepared to roll about laughing at the £75 contract they will want you to be on unless you are willing to contribute masses to the cost of the phone, cos thats what they quoted me and I've been with them for years.
They've got to be joking, considering you can get it on contract elsewhere for £25 a month and a free phone.
Only 2 more months and I'm contract free and heading for any other network but T mobile0 -
Some assistance please.
My Flext 30 contract is due for upgrade and I currently pay £30 for Flex 30 and £5 on top of that for internet (happy to loose internet as we have at home). My current usage is max 500 minutes a month and no more than 100 texts a month HOWEVER I'm having a baby in January so expect my usage to go up...although I'm struggling to predict by how much! We don't have a house phone at home so our mobiles are our only point of contact.
I have a Samsung Omnia at the moment but am fed up with it to my back teeth as I struggle to text on the touchscreen so sim only is really out the question for me, I'm desperate to get rid of it!
I like the Sony Ericsson W995 alot and T-Mobile "retentions" have said they can offer me the new Flext 35 tariff with line rental discount making the line rental £27 rather than £35. However, I'd have to pay £100 towards the phone. (they are putting £90 towards the phone).
I can get the phone free through other networks for £25 but on the new Flext tariff, it includes voicemail and 0800 numbers out of your minutes - our doctor's surgery is an 0844 number - last month I spent £13 on voicemail and 0800 numbers (nothing dodgy UI might add!) . This cost will of course vary month to month - but with a baby on the way - I can't see it changing much.
The new Flext tariffs also include internet, which, although not a necessity by any means is nice to have.
So, am I better accepting the T-Mobile offer, paying the £100 for the phone I like and knowing all calls to voicemail and the doctor will be covered, or, going through a different network where the line rental is £2 cheaper a month, no internet and the phone is free - but I have to pay for voicemail and 0800 numbers.
I know there are plenty of other phones out there, but I'm one of these really picky persons when it comes to phones - and I think my mind is made up over the choice of phone (also want to be happy with the phone I am going to have for the next 18 months).
Some advise please? I have been in more mobile phone shops today than I care to think of, and can't work out the best thing to do!0 -
Saw some deals (cant remember where) on Orange for the w995, free phone, lots of mins/texts - 18 months, 20 squid a month (possibly with 500meg internet).
Think it was buymobilephones.net
And phones4u have some decent deals for the phone - dont forget quidco as well.0 -

Bit wary of using these online companies after what I've read on here. Want to steer clear of Phones4u really. Spent 45 minutes in their shop today whilst they tried to do a hard sell. Gave up with them!0 -
I would not deal with any retailer in the high street. Online I have used phones4u for quite a few years so recommend them - others on here have been pretty favourable about them. If that helps...
Anyway, your offer from t-mobile to me sounds too expensive - I would want a free phone at least out of them.0 -

Tried to blag the phone free today to customer services. They said they can't subsadise the phone anymore and give me the £8 line rental discount.0 -
Hi all,
just got a call from Tmobile saying they want me to upgrade my contract.
Was on a £25 a month, with £140 worth of credit - flext 30? They're now offering me a free Nokia 5800, 200 mins anytime any network, 200 txts, for £7 a month.
Everything is telling me that's a good deal, but I thought I'd check with the money experts first
Thanks!0
