I rang to find out when my contract would end, only to find out that its been out of contract since May.
I was paying £4.99pm for a £13.99 (+vat) contract - 750 off peak mins to t-mobile & landlines and 50 texts pm. In the past 2/3 months, I have spent about £20-25pm as I've needed my phone a lot.
When I asked about deals, they basically gave me the bums rush and suggested I go to a 'solo' deal, no new phone, no discount for 5+ years loyalty.
The best solo is the £15.00 Solo 15 on a 12 month sim only contract, giving 500 minutes and unlimited texts
I really don't want to pay more than about £15 pm for a contract & ideally wanted a new phone. Anyone seen a better deal around?
Vodafone £10 per month 100 mins 500 texts choice of phones and cashback through Quidco. Downside 24 month contract.
For £15 per month you get 300 mins and unlimited texts.
You can get a better phone by ringing for a deal but then you lose Quidco cashback which was £90.
I think there is £100 cashback on Quidco for another mobile company (o2???)~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Hi I have been a customer of Tmobiles for 3 years now on Flext 35 with half price discount through the advantage plan option.
I have just rang up the upgrades department and have been offered a few of the following (on the terms I keep my half price discount):
T-mobile G1 white - £100
Nokia 6600 slide - £28.30 with £100 gift card
Nokia 6500 slide - Free
T-mobile G1 black - £145.74
I am a bit dissapointed with these offers to be honest. I know its greedy because I already have the half price discount but I would of liked the G1 white for £50. I did ring retentions and they wouldnt budge! The customer advisor did state that the offers may get better as I come to the end of my contract so call back in 2 weeks time. I dont know if this was a ploy to get me to change my mind or if it is true, anyone that has had experience of the waiting game please let me know?
Thanks in advance!
Because you have the 50% off, you will not get any decent offers. However do see how much the handsets are under Flext 40. It is £2.50 more for you but it may work out better handset price wise.
They don't really need to fight to save friends and relations people because they are already on to a good thing.0 -
I've hardly looked at this thread, but I don't think I need to!
I've seen pretty much exactly what I have experienced with T-Mobile!
8 years loyal service, Martin won't like reading this (Hi Martin! :money:) but I've even been paying for Flext Credit that I don't use and haven't used for a fair number of months now - should have downgraded my monthly price plan, but didn't - slapped wrists for me!
I have been a big supporter of T-Mobile giving them extra custom wherever possible (no proof of that, but never mind) always speaking highly of them etc. I thought their first set of Flext Price Plans were a breath of fresh air and should be rewarded with extra custom. Dare I say it, but it probably has been which is why they don't seem to care about losing a customer of 12 every minute - maybe a bit OTT, but never mind.
I am a Nokia Man and was always impressed by their N Series, owning their N95, skipping the N96 due to contract renewals etc at wrong times, but have been salivating over the N97 ever since it was first mentioned many many moons ago!
Without going into LOADS of detail, I will give a brief summary.
I was constantly on the phone to them asking when it would be stocked with them, and getting several different answers (3 in the same day!). Finally get the chance to buy one, started to hear the blurb about it being a really expensive phone, but thought I would hear the ending of "But as you are such a valued customer, it's free for you" but no.
The phone will cost £176.16. A long pause from me followed and I asked "even for me?" and they said That's correct. I asked what was the price for a new customer and they said the same price. So after asking why would I upgrade with you when I could get a better deal with another network and even a better deal with a independent online retailer of mobile phones. They said "I can't comment on other network's offers but we don't price match third party offers. I was tempted to cancel there and then but was speechless!
They really didn't seem bothered! Annoyingly, it would appear I would have to remain with them, I can port my number onto a seperate PAYG SIM card on a different network etc, but the deal with the third party is fantastic on T-Mobile. Only 2 other networks currently stock it themselves, one doesn't offer the phone for free and their price plans are no where near as good as T-Mobile and the other network I just don't like. Even though their deal is very impressive, I'd be going against my morales!
I could go through another third party online retailer to give me another network, but their "Unlimited" Mobile Internet is actually limited and wouldn't be enough for me, especially as I am used to watching things on the iplayer on my phone!
I am pretty much stuck!
I have always helped people I know with their phone retentions and getting them the best deal possible and have always said to do things like:
"Say you have seen a better offer elsewhere"
Which gives you lots of haggling possibilities!
or
"Insist that you want to leave" (even though you have no intention of leaving!)
Which means they will do their best to keep you, but if not, you don't have to go through with the threat, and back out at the last minute and say you need to double check everything before doing so!
But now I'm at a complete loss as although I haven't done the latter and only done the first, I've seen people above try to do the latter and get no where and been given their PAC without a blink of an eyelid!
Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do, or do I have to bite the bullet and do as planned which is:
Cancel with them, get the PAC, port onto a different networks' Free PAYG SIM, get the new deal with the independant retailer and port the number onto the new SIM!
I was going to wait until the final main player in the network world who would be releasing it (as in the one that doesn't have the iPhone but gives you 2 for 1 cinema tickets in the middle of the week) but they seem to have taken the fact that the phone was coming soon off their website! They wouldn't have enough internet usage for me personally, but never mind! I thought it was possible to add more onto it, but no.
I could also add extra expense, but take out a new contract with the independant retailer, give the SIM card to a family member to use instead of go to waste (I'd pay for it though), get a "I'm happy with my phone, so reduce my Line Rental please" reduction - which is about £8 a month and not have to do the porting malarky! A bit more expensive, but it would mean my family member could cancel their rubbish contracts (although cheap) and have one contract.
Any help or ideas please?!
Thanks so much in advance!0 -
has anyone had any luck negotiating a blackberry curve from T Mobile?
They don't seem to care about holdng onto customers latelyMerry Christmas MSE!0 -

Its funny really because T-Mobile will have to pay more overall in taking you on again as a customer by paying commission to the 3rd party retailer.
I would highlight this to their customer services department and see if they offer you it. cust.rel@t-mobile.co.uk. Mention your account details, the phone you want and tariff. Then mention the competitor deal for the phone on T-Mobile. Ask them to explain why you need to go to a 3rd party to get the phone you want on T-Mobile, rather than direct which is saving both you the hassle and T-Mobile high commission charges.
Let us know how you get on.

Interesting idea, may have to try that.
It's just that I doubt I will get anywhere, purely and simply as it's a "high value phone" - as I kept gettifng told!
I'm almost on the verge of taking out the contract with the Third Party Retailer, give the SIM to my mum (I'd be paying the contract!), go on a SIM Only deal and get better value than ever possible for the contract and only have to keep it for 30 days and change it if I want!
I really can't see them budging sadly. I am bemused by the fact that no Network seems to care about keeping customers, other than getting their customers on SIM only, therefore no need for overheads of subsidising (sp?!) the phones etc. I mean, isn't there a Recession/Credit Crunch going on or is that just me?
I'll give it a go, I may try my luck by phone and ask someone else. If all else fails, I'll try the e-mail route and if that fails, I'll eat 2 tins of beans and get a long piece of string!0 -
Have 90 days remaining and have online the offer of various phones but i am after a blackberry as currently using my mates- They dont seem to want to give me one free! Am i best to wait until my final month or to attempt to do it now? And what are my chances?

I've got 30 days left of my own 18month contract... Line rental was 25pm, with a free samsung G600, and over the length of the contract, on average used to spend at least 10pound a month over my line rental... Ave works out to 35.80 pounds per month.
I want to go down to either a solo, or a payg, but I want a new handset... any chances? I'm fairly flexible in terms of handset... But it would need to be free!
Any chance?
Thanks!0 -

Dont give up yet - I had a similar problem re upgrades, looking for a Sony Eriksson W995.
Been with T Mobile for about 8 or 9 years, always had a decent upgrade phone each 12/18 months. Last time was a Free Viewty, nice at the time but just got sick of it (various reasons!).
Was on Flext (£34 allowance), recently went over quite a bit so looked forward to a good upgrade as previous.
A) Tried to upgrade via the website, but deals were rubbish (£5 off the tarriff - cheapest Flext is £40 so a no-no for me; or slightly cheaper phones than web standard price - disappointed).Phoned up - no joy, not even any suggestions from them.
C) Looked at other providers, but couldnt see anything better around for the Combi 300 mins & texts
D) Went to Carphone warehouse - Bingo :j
Offered the Combi deal I was after for £20 (not £30), and £100 off the T Mobile phone price. (Saving 18months x £10, plus £100, so total over going direct to T Mobile of £280 over the 18 months).
Downside re T mobile was that in the Vodafone shop they said they would not price match T-mobile, as Vodafone only saw Orange and O2 as competitors, also that either Vodafone or one of the O's was going to take them over soon ( T mobile that is); same comment in another store (Three I think).
Also comments re T Mobile only have a certain allowance they can give away for upgrades (depending on who complains the most presumably), and they are at of their allowance for this o no cash in the purse.
Just comments heard while shopping around.
Good luck and sorry for rambling!!0 -
Hi all,
as per my title, I'm at the end of my tmobile contract and have said I want free internet for as small as possible monthly amount -
I use around 100-150 mins a month (but mostly because it's been free till now, I could cut back) and only around 20 texts a month. I'd like unlimited internet too -
T-mobile have offerered 150 mins, 300 text and internet for 15 a month on a 30 day rolling contract - my hubby is going on to O2 with the 100 quidco cashback offer, but I missed out.
Is this a good deal or is there better or an 02 offer which would mean we're on the same network?
Thanks!0
