T-Mobile Retentions

So, I phoned up T-mobile today about an upgrade - my contract expires in days. never been a great spender with them currently paying £18/month for 500 mins off-peak and 750 texts. generally never go over my tarrif apart from the odd call/text so normally paying £21.
Was interested in the Sony Ericsson C905 or Nokia 5800. They wouldn't offer me anything better than on their website. (£31 for a free C905).
As much as they have always given me good customer service, mobiles.co.uk are doing the C905 at £20 on Orange Dolphin. I guess I will be changing in the next few days.0 -

Hi, I’m on Flext35 with 25% discount. I have upgraded online to Nokia 5800 with £100 Gift Card. Nokia was send without any problems. Cost of it to me will be £77.23 debited on next bill. However to my surprise they have no intention to send me £100 Gift Card. Took me 3 hours on the phone plus 1 visit to local shop before someone promised me to look at my case. According to them I’m not qualifying for a card because of my low monthly fee on the plan I have. I must admit last 18 months contract included 25% discount for life, which I got initially when I took the plan few years ago, plus £5 loyalty discount. What they forgetting is the fact I have second line with them which is Solo15 and that gives them extra money every month. I’m using around 50% of my usage allowance every month on both plans. However I think all of this is irrelevant in my case. My point is they cannot refuse me Gift Card as I have upgraded online and I have chosen upgrade which was customized especially for me. They gave me options, I have chosen one, confirmed it, Nokia was send next day with confirmation how much I will need to pay for it and how they will charge me for it. The part of the deal was for me to get this £100 Gift Card, offer was made by them, and I have accepted it. That’s it. I’m waiting for them as they said they will need to contact their legal team.

I was thinking about using them, but having Googled them and looked at some of the comments about them, I am going to look in to some other options.0 -
Hi Guys
You seem like a pretty knowledgeable bunch!
Can you help me with my query?
I am currently on Flext 25 on friends and family (£12.50 per month, started in November 2007)
I am looking to upgrade to the G1 and have been told I can have this for free if I upgrade to Flext 35 (which I would get for £17.50 per month)
I know there have been friends and family changes in August 2008 meaning that once that person leaves the company the discount ends.
What I want to know is if I took their offer would that be classed a new contract therefore when the person who got me the discount leaves my discount would end or because my discount started before August 2008 would I have it forever even if I changed my price plan?
Thanks in advance!0 -
I'm due my upgrade today and I went into CPW to see what they could do. They upped my phone allowance to '£199.99' so that I could get a Sony Ericsson C905 or Nokia 5800 for free. However, I want to downgrade my package as I hardly use the £80 allowance on my Flext 25 + W&W. Bloke in CPW said it would be difficult to get them to downgrade my tariff and give me a nice new phone.
So, should I try my luck and call 150 and see what they will do or do I move to a different provider?
I was looking at Combi 20 + either of the above phones for free (and maybe free W&W). I want to get my phone from CPW as their phones are 'unlocked'. They also have better customer service as T-mobile shop ignored me in BOTH shops that I went into. I might consider P4U but are their phones unlocked?0 -
My contract expires in 2 weeks currently on flext35 with wnw 42.5 i got family and friends so i pay 21.25 a month. I almost nvr go above this. What can of phone upgrade can i expect? Was thinking N79 or maybe even a G1.

I have re-contacted T-Mobile upgrades after purchasing the T-mobile G1 as an upgrade and returning the handset due to the poor battery life.
They have now offered me my tariff - Advantage plan discount 50% off Flext 35 with free web n walk (£17.50 a month) with Nokia 6600 slide for £15 and free delivery! I think thats quite a good deal so very happy!0 -
The best deal T-Mobile could give me was £5pm off my £32.50 tariff and a free 5800. So 28th June will be my PAC request day (as they charge before contract end date) and I will take my custom elsewhere.0

No, you'll be fine to do that. It's for new connections with the new Friends and Family policy.0
