Personally, if you are happy with t-mobile, I would take the £30 offer and keep the discount. You can get that phone free, but not on that lower tariff elsewhere. e2save want you to take out £35 tariff for free phone whereas uk phone shop will let you have it for free on £25 - which is probably a lower tariff that you pay 22.50 for now.
If you go else where and want data, I think you will be paying a lot more. Unless someone knows different, Web'n'Walk is still untouchable.
If I get an equivalent deal for the vario 3, I would definately take it ( as in upto £80 for the phone and keep discount)

I've had the original Vario for 18mts on Flext WnW 35 with the 25% discount and have been very pleased with it.
I telephoned to get an upgrade price on the Vario III and was told it would be £100 + delivery. I gave my notice immediately (there is more history to the story  that I won't bore you with) but am hoping that they might phone back before my line switches off with a slightly better offer! Looking on here at the number of people on here leaving T-Mobile, I doubt if they will have any customers left soon!
I will be interested in 3's new 'Flext Killer' tariffs when they come out on Monday, they look very interesting... I know people that have had lots of problems with 3 in the past, including not being able to cancel and being threatened with legal action  after they cancelled their Direct Debit, but hopefully things are better now!0 -

£100 sounds a little high for flext 35 to me. Did you phone to cancel first and speak with retentions? Probably worth calling them again to see if they improve the offer.
the Flext killer from 3 sounds interesting, I may have to do some research! but 3 won't do the TYTN2 (Vario 3)0 -
I called T Mobile a few days ago as I was due an upgrade. At present I am on the Flext 20 price plan with a 25% go to direct discount making my bill £15 a month. I had several offers online, one of which was £10 off my line rental if I did not have a new phone. I called to ask if I would loose the 25% discount if I took the £10 off. They said no, so I now have Flext 20 for £5 a month. I had to take out another 18 month contract. Do people think this is a good deal?0

Yes, spoke to retentions, they were in a 'take it or leave it' mood , so I left it and cancelled there and then! I have seen it on a new contract from a supplier for £28, so I wasn't going to pay £100! They had already told me I could have it for free when it came out! There were polite but utterly useless. I was trying to see if others got a call from TM after cancelling to better the offer, but not had any useful replies yet.
Here is the link to the 3 stuff http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/content/16925.asp?men=0&sub=1, or wait till Monday and hopefully it will be on the 3 site? Having said that the Vario III was available in store and on-line from 28th Sept according to the TM press release, but 2 local TM stores knew nothing and it was not on the TM web site when I looked earlier! Retentions had to go away and check - good communications from a communications company eh?!!
3 don't seem to do any Windows Mobile stuff, which is a shame, but the Vario III is a big heavy beast, even accepting what it does.0 -

I think the £10 off if you don't take another phone seems to be the norm from what i have read. If it works for you then it might be worth it, but you might want to wait till Monday and check out 3's new tariffs http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/content/16925.asp?men=0&sub=1
You can also get £10 a month off from TM if you take an 'average' phone as well and then possibly sell it on ebay?
If you read the stuff on here, when it's time to 'renew' your contract the deals from TM really suck
Good Luck!0 -
I was about to change from T Mobile to 3.
Called up for PAC code and told them I could get all the minutes I was getting with them (Flext 30) plus web n walk plus a new handset with 3.2meg camera for £26 per month.
With absolutely no problem he did his sums and offered me further discounts on my line rental, wen n walk, a U600 handset (or a K810i if I prefer - any comments on these phones please?), for a total of £24.37 per month.
Obviously an 18 month contract, but that would have been the case with 3 too. All in all I am quite pleased with that deal.

After some more negotiating with Customer Services, they agreed to let me keep my current 25% Discount on Web n Walk 35 and get a Vario 3 with free delivery for £50. :j
It's an awesome phone, albeit a little heavy, but you do get a lot in that heavy package!
Hope this helps someone.0 -
interesting thread even if it is slightly depressing.
gonna be going for the k850i in a week or so and was hoping to get a good deal. Looks unlikely.
As things stand i think i am off to orange if i have to go 18mnth contract for the home max deal alone. ho hum
if anyone gets the k850i and 600 mins apx 100 texts for say £20 on an 18month let me know.
ANy 12month deals on said phone will interest me too0 -
Well, as predicted by alnsv1000, my upgrade price for the vario 3 has now come up on my account for a staggering £279.99! Not a chance!
I phoned and asked for my PAC code, but was told that although my account is now elligible for upgrade, I have to wait until 5 nov for free PAC.
No upgrade offer was forth coming so the call ended.
Am I in a position to begin hard bargaining without the ability to get a free PAC code? Got my speach ready about wanting to go to 3 who are cheaper, have good (cheaper) data tariffs etc or should I wait until the 5th?
3 really do look good, expect the handsets aren't what I'm after and there are question marks about bringing your own 3G phone over as they might block you for not using their own handsets, but it is still an option!0
