Afternoon all,
Just after some upgrade advice as my 18mth contract is up at the end of March. I have the F+R 50% discount, for life I believe. I am currently on Flext35 w'n'w for just over £21 per month.
2 questions really-
- Am I likely to get a deal with the G1 on similar money?
-If not and I just keep my original phone would I get a further line rental reduction if signing up for a new 12 or 18mth contract?
Thanks for any help or advice.
Cheers Si0 -
In last month of my contract. Called t-mobile to see what my options were. Was offered hardly anything.
I'm on flext 20, not a very high user I know, but I thought i;d be able to get a decent phone from them after 3 years of loyalty.
Was offered the Samsung Tocco for £50 and stay on the same tariff, or pay £25 tariff, and get the tocco for free.
I think i'll going along to p4u or cpw instead. Tocco can be had for free on a £20 tariff.
Bye bye t-mbile.0 -

I'm in a similar boat - been on the same tarrif for about 5 years (500 off-peak mins, 750 texts), normally pay about £15/month with my loyalty discount. I think I will do some research before I give them a call - I am wanting to change my phone to something like the Renoir.0 -
Anyone got calls from "One Mobile" (I think he said) or someone saying that they are doing upgrades on T-Mobiles behalf. I am sure I had a call from them when my last upgrade was due and I told them to go away and not call me back.
Anyone upgraded through them?0 -

I had a call from a company saying I was within three months of my contract ending and they could help me upgrade, told em to sod off and I was only going to deal with T-Mobile direct.0 -
My other half, who talks a hell of a lot, has been offered an 18 month contract, Nokia N96, £32.50 a month for 1000 minutes, including free evening calls. Is this a good deal?0

I think mobile.co.uk had that phone for free for £30 a month
I got offered the N96 on upgrade for £130
Went for a free N79 instead, nice little phone0 -
Very disappointed.
My contract's up on 29th April. Spent ages researching phones and contracts all over the place and found some great deals on the Nokia 5800 on third party websites. Was leaning towards getting a smartphone as I'm starting a new job in the summer for which a smartphone would be very useful.
Thought I'd be in a great position as I've consistently spent more than the inclusive minutes on my current Flext30 (£25 p/m, £90 allowance) plan. The first time I rang, the guy was really helpful and friendly when I asked for my PAC, and offered me the standard new customer deals on the site along with some phones I wasn't interested in (Nokia N79, SE C905). Told him I'd think about the phones and call back.
Did a bit more research and thought about moving onto the Solo 30day rolling contract as I wanted to research the phones a bit more, so rang up and asked about it. Second guy was adamant that I should get the SE C905 instead of going on the Solo contract, so I said I'd think about it.
Then decided finally on the Nokia 5800, so rang and asked for the PAC in the hope of a better deal. The woman said it would cost £25 unless I rang back at the end of the month - not even trying to offer me anything!
So rang back straight away and asked to hear about the first deals again, and the next man rudely said 'You've phoned quite a lot today, why is that?' To which I answered 'I was offered a lot of different things and wanted to think about them a bit more'. Then I asked about the 5800, quoting an Orange AND T-Mobile Combi deal which was much better than the Flext, and he said 'Well, if you want to go, no problem' and wouldn't budge!
So, hints for future hagglers- don't ring them up loads in one day! They obviously think I'm trying it on (which, ok, I am - but I could genuinely have been wanting to think about the deals too!). I smiled throughout and was pleasant and friendly, but they wouldn't shift. So I'm decamping to Orange via mobiles.co.uk at the end of the month, the last man was so rude I don't want anything more to do with them!LBM: 11/9/12 Starting debt: £7470Credit card: [STRIKE]£2920[/STRIKE] £3148

Anyone know if t-mobile negotiate with existing payg customers as some other networks do? My friend had been with O2 (payg) for 2 years and wanted to move to a contract and got an excellent deal with them. Do t-mobile do the same? And has anyone had any luck with negotiating in-store? They seem to have offers regularly but I'm not sure if they're any good really0
