Just renewed my 2 lines with T mobile, I've got one for me and one for the boy, so most of my calls were to him and vice versa.

I went straight to disconnections as I've already been mucked about 3 times. And I was going to leave for the )2 simplicity online deal, 30 day contract with one of 7 bolt on's to add to the package e.g. free web, free O2 to O2, free landline etc. Thinking the free O2 to O2 would help stop the boy's over spend.

I average 700 minutes of call and 390 text a month. I was on the Flex 35 with £15 discount from last time I renewed, that gave me £180 of credit to spend however over texts and calls, it was just about ok I very rarely went over it.

I've now changed to the combi 25 which offers 300 minutes and 300 text, normally £25 but I got it for £10 as they are letting me keep my discount.

Once I mentioned the O2 to O2 calls and wanting to take both my lines there T Mobile suggest I add an unlimited T-mobile to T-mobile bundle for £7.34, which 1. I didn't know they did and 2. they said was the only uncapped bundle available anywhere (I know O2 are capped at 3000) and another £7.50 for web and walk because I will use it to blog etc. so all that for £24.84.

I guess they are hoping i'll go over my text msg allowence, but I wont :p

The Boy was also on the Flex 35 which again gave him £180 of credit, and free weekend calls (that was a web promotion when i took out his line) which he allllways went over mainly talking to me. For him T mobile suggested the Flex 35 off peak, so he now gets £180 of credit, 10,000 weekend minutes, 1000 off peak calls (7pm to midnight week days) a month. On his contract I was also able to ask for the Nokia N96 which I got for £70 because he had such high bills. But thats going to be mine (why I wanted the web and walk) because he's rubbish with anything too
    techy.

Cant wait till it arrives tomorrow! New toy!

But more importantly did I do ok?

As a former T-mobile L+R agent I'd say you did fantastic!
  • not bad, but i'd ask which flext tarrif they put your son on, if it was the same as the last one, or the new one thats out for current customers (out for new custs 1st april) VM will be included in the allowance but at 20p. Some international calls are included in the new tarrif as well. Can't remember all the changes off the top of my head though, but better knowing whats included etc if they have put you on the new one.

  • Just been offered the following deal by t-mobile, as an existing customer, and wondered what people thought of it........

    200 mins, unlimited texts, free samsung u800, 18 months @ £20 a month.

Tried to push them lower, but they were not budging.

Giggles, By the boy I meant my boyf.:rotfl:I should really stop referring to him as the boy, he hates it. . .
I think it's still the same as last time, as the guy on the phone didn't tell me anything about the international calls and I did mention being offered that when I went into the T mobile store and he didn't elaborate, but the boyf doesn't make international calls and thank you to the person that said you can retrieve your voicemail for free (inclusive in your minutes) by calling your mobile no on your mobile phone because as far as I can see that has worked. I've just saved it to my speed dial, replacing the old voicemail no.

    Hi All,

On December 30th I called up T-Mobile to cancel my 18 mnt Flext 35 w&w contract because I had seen a deal for a 12 month contract on T-Mobile with a free playstation 3 (phone was basic but it didn't bother me because I wanted to keep my current phone). I was put through to retentions and the lady offered me the following to stay (after some negociating)...

    12 Month Contract
    combi 30
    w&w
    £18 discount

    Total was around £17.50

Happy with this I decided that I didn't really need a PS3 and accepted the offer. She then sent out a text message to me to confirm and I went away happy.

In Jan I went to Europe on holiday made quite a few calls - so when my bill came in at £55 I wasn't suprised or worried. Today I have just recieved a text message from T-Mobile informing me that this Feb's online bill is available and totals £32 - which alarmed me because I hadn't really used it that much. Called them up and it seems that on the 13th Jan (whilst I was on holiday) the lady from retentions tried to call me to let me know the offer was made in error. I didn't pick up the call. The advisor today then let me know that my contract had been changed to...

    18 Month Contract
    Flext 35
    w&w
    £8 discount

    Totaling over £30 a month

After spending some time on hold it appears that they WILL NOT honour the discount offer made by retentions but will change me to the agreed contract (still to be confirmed). They even queried why it has taken me so long to contact them about the mistake - half implying that I was up to no good.

What I am trying to find out here is - are they allowed to do that? Can they just change the terms of the agreement like that (rememberin that they have sent me a text message confirming the discount)? Is it not a contract which they AND I have to uphold?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Chris

No they can't do that. Take a photo of the text message and include it in a letter to their head office stating what has happened and that they are in breach of contract. Give them 14 days to put things right. Be factual, accurate and complete in your letter without descending into a rant.

    UPDATE

T-Mobile called back to let me know that the lady in retentions no longer works for the company so they are unable to get to the bottom of the 'error'. They have decided to honour the original agreement of...

    12 Month Contract
    W&W
    Combi30
    £18 Discount

I am sooooo glad that this is sorted now - big thanks to the Customer Service Agent who sorted it all out in the end. I do think if it wasn't for getting through to her I would have got no where. From the beginning she agreed that T-Mobile had to honour the terms of the original offer.
