  • Hi folks

I phoned t-mobile this morning to change my price plan. I got a new phone for Christmas, so not looking for an upgrade, just to change my price plan. I got through immediately (9.20 sat morning). The girl I spoke to was very nice but as I was looking to change my plan rather than upgrade, she couldnt give the discounts that were available. She told me that the retentions dept were the best people for me to speak to, rather than customer services. However, retentions are closed until Tuesday 7 Jan, so I would be best phoning back on Wednesday. Having been out of contract since mid November, I'm getting a bit fed up being told to phone back. I try to do stuff like this on line, but the website says that they have no offers for me (this includes upgrades!). I think I'll start looking around for another provider!

    Sorry to ramble on

this is typical of t mobile now, they may have there hands tied with regards some kind of money issues but they are really upsetting a large proportion of there customers.in my eyes t mobile has gone from a quite good service provider to a really bad one, unless i get offered a deal thats hard to refuse i will be going elsewhere come the end of next week.
  • I'd suggest emailing them via contact us on website, I've had someone tryingto ring me back, unfortunatley couldn't take call, now received email and contact number - I want to change plan but person spoke to couldn't offer online deals, guy who emailed would like to help me and change to a plan I would like - will ring Monday!!

They really are bad. I phoned up to state that I would be wanting my PAC code, so they said I needed to give 30 days notice, as well as being out of contract so I did, but stated quite clearly that I wanted to port my number. They said phone back at the start of January and we will have some better offers for you. Phoned back and was told that my phone line had been set to cancel.

No news on deals phone back next week. I have a feeling that it is going to be a matter of getting my PAC code and finding what is out there. Before the VAT decrease I was paying £4.99 for Flext 20. To be offered a renewal of Flext20 for £15 with no new phone when you could get more minutes and texts on a £15 t-mobile sim only deal seemed like a very bad offer.

I currently think I have a good T-Mobile package. I have 3000 minutes (50 hours) per month off peck for all landlines and x network mobiles. i also have 75 text message bundle. My current line rental is £15.32 per month. I have been with T -Mobile since 1996. I am coming up to the end of another contract. My phone bills are about £20 quid a month. I wanted to ask the following:

    1) Is my T-Mobile package vaule for money compared to other packages?

    2) I already have a £12.00 loyaty discount on my account, can I get more of a discount when my contract is up for renewal?

    3) I could not get a new handset out of them 18 months ago, do you think i will this time?

    4) do you think I could get anyt5hing else out of them, more text messages??

    thanks in adance
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

I feel like t-mobile should have given a fixed date for customers months ago when to call, telling them to call in the new year, then closing the upgrade department so no-one can do it until 7th. It's not fair on customers, and it's not fair on t-mobile staff. That's just my opinion (luckly, I only work 2 days a week :D) lol

  • I have not read all 19 pages... but my OH seemed to get a good deal.

He was on Flext 35 with Web 'n' Walk for £42.50 a month, he got an N95-1 on realease day for £50 as a new customer - it took him a while but sweet talked them into a deal. It was an 18 month contract. The flext had £180 of credit.

He came to renew in month 17 as customers can do... he phoned up and just kept saying 'no, not good enough - how about xxx'.
Eventually he ended up with a N96 for £40 to be sent on realease day or as soon as (ended up being 2 days after). His Flext 35 was reduced to £30 with £200 of credit and Web 'n' Walk to £5. So in the end a reduction of £7.50 pcm.

They would not reduce it anymore as he wanted a phone which was 'expensive' and not yet released.

He was also offered a 'phone free' option for £20 pcm. He said in future this might be worthwhile so he can choose a PDA or alike from a third party.

The N96 came out before the upgrade lockdown
  • This has got me thinking now my contract is up in 2 weeks and I need to upgrade my phone. Problem for me is my monthly payment is so low - £13.50 + vat for flext 35- I don't want to loose this but really need a new phone.
Wonder what they will offer me??
