thats the first proper week back... and my mate is a manager at a tmobile store...

All the internal departments have said to us in store beginning of the new year, and we were offerred £70 discount on a line that only had loyalty bonus on the 23rd when the contract 'ended'. There's 5 members of staff in different stores here and none of us have been told that o.o Bit odd.

This is what he told me in mid november, so things could have changed. He says to upgrade via the phone as they have better offers available than he can do.

It is true to call - it is better offers, but none of us have been told that so we're just confused, considering we have 2 store managers in the group, but there is a possibility he may have heard something we havn't, i'd still be inclined to wait until tuesday or so myself, give the rush time to settle down.

Ive tried to upgrade today, no go, got to ring back on 5th. Im with friends & family and my upgrade was due mid dec.
  • I have checked my systems for all my customers who have wanted an upgrade over the past 3 months, but have only been able to get discounts.

Nothing has changed on the system, but as someone else has said, they will be updating on Jan 5th.

Dont waste your phone bill yet trying to phone and get no where with retentions.

    Wait until Monday.
  • I dont know how long you've been working for T-mobile, but i'm sure you've had the times when they said they were going to bring a product out, and then when due to launch have pulled it back for various reasons (e.g not the right time, problems with the features etc) I'd just be careful what information your sharing as you may tell people something is definetly happening, only for them to be disappointed when t-mobile pull out before the launch.

    Hi Jess

I don't actually work for TMobile but with them.

I mentioned the 5800 as I don't want people to have the illusion that loads of new handsets are being launched as someone else has mentioned.

I put that Hopefully the 5800 will be coming in Mid Jan as that is what I have been told.

The Combi 24Mth tariffs with U/Limited Texts are a definate and available for me to connect now. :D

No the reason for Jan is they are getting hit with the credit crunch, and the "no upgrade" or expensive upgrade was to boost the profits for that quarter..

free upgrades cost them £££, and they had hit the budgeted upgrades pretty early on in that quater. (mid nov I think)
  • I'm sure t-mobile are going to have a fair few unhappy customers the now since their upgrade department closed today until the start of next week (tuesday apparently). Their call queues have been near enough an hour over the past day and a half. I hope t-mobile are going to come out with great deals soon, otherwise their going to lose a hell of alot of business
