If you are like me, someone will call you back (my call back was the same day) but again they didn't really offer me anything more. I think my problem was I was wanting brand new phones (Xperia Z and HTC One) which they couldn't discount.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Asked what offers I had found and said they couldn't match it........... She didn't even attempt to offer me alternative deals or offers.
Most networks can't/won't match cashback offers from 3rd party sites. So if you have told them about a deal you have seen that the advisor knows they cannot match, it would be a waste of time for both of you for them to try to keep you with inferior offers that you are not going to accept.Guess they don't mind loosing customers.
It's not about losing customers, it's about profits. The more money you pay every month, the more room for negotiation you have as the networks don't want to lose high monthly spenders.
For every person (say £20-£30 a month contract) that leaves T-Mobile for a better deal, they know that there will be someone coming from another network to 'fill the gap'.0 -
Just to add to this, I've just ordered a HTC one through Phones 4 U.
I'm paying £36 a month, but only on an 18 month contract with Orange. 600 mins, unlimited texts and 1GB data. Also, by using Top Cashback I get £101 back. This means that the phone, over 18 months, will cost £547, Not bad given that the SIM free price is around £505. I also got the urBeats headphones and a case. Now, just got to hope it arrives soon after the launch date on Friday!0 -
Hi guys,
Just thought Id post since ive been looking at upgrading with t-mobile today
Basically this is what im on at moment
£21 monthly (18 month) - 300 mins - 300 texts - free bosoter (which I use to get unlimited txts) and Unlimited Internet (no limit)
I was looking to upgrade to the HTC One which would cost me £239.99 and stay on same plan.
So I went to t-mobile and noticed I could chat....here is a full transcript of our chatxxx: Yes all good thank you. How may I help today?
You: Good good, well im at the end of my contract and my friend said i could get a better deal and new phone if i switched to "3"
You: so thought i would find out what is the cheapest i could get the HTC One for by staying with t-mobile
xxx: Certainly let see
You: Thanks
xxx: I can offer you the htc ONE for a one off payment of £69 added to the bill. The plan is then just £18.50 which is inc vat with 1000 min, unlimited teaxt and truly unlimited data.
You: is that 18 month contract?
xxx: Its 24
You: how much for 18? i dont like 24 month contact tbh
xxx: Let me see
xxx: Its £24 a month with the htc one at £69 with 600min/500text+free booster+1gb data
You: ahh right ok thanks, is there not an 18 month contract?
xxx: This is an 18 month contract with regards to the last offer
You: ok thanks, and thats including VAT?
xxx: Yes thats right
You: Ok thanks a lot for your help. Ill have a think about it before i upgrade
Working out the costs I worked out £514 and £504...
Anyways I followed up by calling t-mobile and asking for best deal...best deal I got offered was this
£23.50 - 1000 mins - unlimited text - unlimited data - 24 months
Then I spoke to a guy on chat again, he offered me the same deal as the woman originally but for £26 and then when I said I got offered for £24 he wouldnt budge at all.
So i emailed the original female back and shes replied back saying she would sort it out....fingers crossed!
Hope this information helps!0 -
first post so bear with me
just got off the phone with tmobile.
spoke to gethen with retentions and at the moment full monty £31 is discounted to £21 there is a glitch which allows retentions to discount further.
unlimited calls
unlimited text
unlimited internet
if its not enough .........
offer was for £9.50 p/m on sim only
i have more than 3 contracts with them so was able to get down to £9 p/m on sim only
prefer to buy phones outright so didnt want contract phone which would have bumped up cost a bit
