I rang T-Mobile today. The upgrade prices they offered to me was same as shown on their website for new customers.

I was on sim only deal and paying £8.50 previously for 600 minutes. I think that was the reason. I was looking for an upgrade to my handset but not willing to pay the prices which shows on their website for customers.

I've got the same offer as you, so please do let me know how it goes! My plan however finishes in a few months, so just wondering how they'll treat us low-payers x)

The online chat isn't showing for me. Tried several times a day at different times and for the last few days, waiting atleast 10 mins on the upgrade and renewals page of my account but no luck. :(

Do I need to select one of the 3 options and wait on the subsequent pages? what is the best time to try? Thanks

I logged into my account in the afternoon and was navigating around the upgrade options hoping for a little floating box to come up but it never did, although it had done previously.

I then noticed a button within one of the upgrade screens (I had two) near the top which said 'Live Chat' - I hadn't noticed this previously though so might not always be there...

First live chat I had the offers poor, but the second time they were much improved - not sure if it depends who you get but both times seemed to be no room for negotiation on price, the offers they gave were what they stuck to.

Finally got through. Got offered a rubbish deal of £179 for the HTC One on a 24 month contract with 300 mins/500 texts/250MB data plus 1 free booster for £21 a month. Can get the exact same deal with the phone just costing £85 upfront from elsewhere. Worth trying online chat again and hope for a different representative who might offer a better deal?

Just to let you all know, the deal came through.

I called up and the reason for the delay was because the phone was out of stock. I asked on LiveChat if I could go in store and collect, and they said yes.

So £29pcm 500mins, unlimited texts and data, 12 month contract, and £100 up front for an LTE Galaxy Note 2.

    Made up with that :money:

Heads up for all - be wary of the LiveChat upgrades.

I don't know if it was just me, or if anyone else has had similar, but my price plan was not updated.

I paid my upfront fee, but still paying my original monthly payment (actually more as my discounts had expired - so £43!)

A complaint letter is being sent off today (with the transcripts confirming the amounts we had agreed).

    Lets see what happens...

Unfortunately T-Mobile will not offer any good deals to me. If I take PAC can I transfer my number to Orange?
Not sure if this is still possinle as they are part of same group.

I have just done exactly this.... its not gone through yet, should do by tomorrow so can confirm for definite, but when I gave them the PAC, there was no indication that it would be a problem.

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.
  • The chat window never appeared for me around upgrade time... Although after receivng my new handset it showed when I was having a nose around the S4 page obviously in the hope of reeling in a customer for this particular handset.

Anywho - called upgrades last Friday and got the Note 2 on Full Monty 36 (2000 x-net mins, ultd tmob mins/text/data) for £27 and the handset free.

Anyone know if the monthly amounts given to customers upgading includes the recent price increase?
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life... unless I buy something.
