  • To update on my previous post, I got refunded the difference, and my price plan was corrected to the right amount.

I do have a question though...

I log in to T-mobile and it says "My Phone" it says "You can renew your phone on 08-Jun-2013"

However, on the "contract" the date I can next upgrade is "Date you can next upgrade: 07/11/2013"

If I was to "renew" my phone in June, what costs would there be?

I am in no rush, as I have an LTE Note 2, but if I could get a new phone, just curious more than anything.

Yes, I have the same thing... My contract was renewed earlier this month for 24 months, but under My Phone online it says I can renew my phone 06.10.2013...

    Early upgrade at a price...

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life... unless I buy something.

    Hardly cheap though.
We'll give you a 25% discount on the monthly payments you have
left. Plus, you can recycle your old phone through us to get some
    extra cash back..

So monthly price plan x months left less 25% as an early termination fee and then having to sign another 24 month contract. Only a good deal for them, that's for sure.

I am having fun with T mobile. My contract ended and nothing was offered so I asked for the PAC and gave 30 day notice. Fair enough. Later, they said keep the phone and have it sim only on a new 12 month contract for £6.50pm. I accepted and thought all was fine.
Now I have a bill for over £100 for cancelling the contract. They said I have to pay for the whole year as I cancelled early. And they cut my phone off.
I think it has all been sorted now. Just got to make sure that the bank does not give them the £104 next week.

How you going to do that? Cancel the direct debit?
Ok but prepare for a default on your credit report and not being able to get any credit for the next six years, at least.

If that's what you're thinking of doing its a VERY stupid idea.
Sort your problems with t mobile THEN get your money back (if it is owed) doing it the other way round will cause you nothing but long term problems.

Yes I got a cancellation charge too. They did sort it as soon as i complained but it does make you cross when something like that happens. They should get their act together.

My wife was on a 12 month 7.50 contract. This came to an end and nobody called her. She rolled over onto £15 a month!

We looked at the upgrade options and nothing came close to what she wanted. But she managed to get into an on-line chat on Sat and was offered the following:

    Lumia 520 (£49 cost)
    £5.50 p/m
    50 mins calls
    500 txt
    500 mb data
    24 months

The phone was supposed to arrive yesterday.
It didn't and we logged into her account and she has been put onto
    50 mins call
    100 txt
    250 mb data
    24 months
    £5.83 + vat!

The cost and the 500mb was a deal breaker.

We rang T-Mobile last night but magically they have no trace of the the offer. Apparently, we have to reject the (wrong) phone when delivery is attempted before we can get a PAC and walk away.

I'm furious with the lies and the lack of accountability.

I'm now at the end of my contract, called to ask for my options to upgrade, as suspected not much on offer.

Currently on @ £30 per month with HTC Sensation XE
    600 mins
    Unlimited texts
    Unlimited data

Asked for my PAC and was called back within a couple of hours, to see if they could offer me anything.

I'm thinking about buying the Nexus 4 and taking the SIM only deal from Virgin Media announced this week, 30 day contract £15 VIP tariff.

T-Mobile offered me £8 per month with a few hundred minutes, can't remember the exact amount, plus the usual texts and 500MB of data, I'm a low user of all, max 200MB per month. Or an £11 option with unlimited data. Both are 12 month contracts.

I did ask which handsets I could get instead of the SIM only option, I only want an 18 month contract, they offered.

HTC one, £60 handset plus just over £23 per month on my current plan
Or Samsung S4 for £70 and £28 per month.

Could take the HTC option, sell the handset which will pay for the Nexus and leave a decent amount of change.

Leaning toward the Nexus though, it's a nice phone, just deciding on which SIM only offer to go for....

I got a 16 gb nexus 4 from mobiles dot co dot uk for £22 a month on o2 (600 mins, 750 mb data + unlimited texts), but cashback from mobiles and quidco, brought the cost down to £17 a month.

    = total for a 24 month contract with a nexus 4 = £408

cost for buying the nexus and £8 a month sim over 24 months = £471

not everyone is offered the same retention deal. the main factor that will depend how good your deal is, is how much money you make them, ie how much extra you spend over your basic tariff cost over your last contract deal.

for example if 2 people both have a contract @ £35 a month and bob's average bill is £36.50 a month, but bill's is £62.50, Bill will be offered a lot better deal to stay if he tried to leave at the end of him minimum term, because he made them a lot of money. Bill didn't, so they won't be that bothered if he leaves, hence no good deals to try and keep him.

Bikeman 17 said "I did spend a fortune on my bill going over my allowance every month ", hence why he got offered such a good deal.

Unless you're spending a similar amount, you won't get a similar deal.

They are offering me awful retention deals. They wanted £300 or something for a Samsung Galaxy S3 on a £15.50 per month contract.

Went to chitterchatter and they gave me the same deal for free on an upgrade so I keep my number. I'm a low user so it seems like a good deal to me. 1 GB internet too and a free 16GB memory card.
