I've just been on the live chat and asked about any deals on the S3 as it wasn't appearing as an option on my upgrade page.

I was offered the LTE version for £100 upfront on my old tariff of 600mins / 500 texts / 1GB data for £28 a month for 18 months.

Looking online the nearest comparable tariff seems to be for £36 a month.

Said I would think about it as the adviser said the offer was valid for 10 days. Really want to try and bring the up front cost down to £50 max though.

I was offered the LTE when I finally got through on the live chat but for 24 months at £31pm, £80 for the handset. I think it was 2000 mins, unltd texts and internet. I don't use that many minutes or texts so refused it but I have someone in retention calling me back tomorrow, hopefully I'll get it reduced.

Also, despite being on their website and I was offered it in store and on the phone, the woman on live chat said they no longer stock the S3, now they only do the S3 LTE.

They're really pushing the iPhone 4 and 4s. Might end up with the 4s
  • Hi guys,

I recently used billmonitor.com and would really recommend it.

You just give them your login details for your mobile phone online portal (its secure) and it checks your past bills and tells you if you are on the best value contract.

But best of all, if you tell it what phone you want next, it can tell you the best deal available... it found me an S3 contract at equivalent £18 a month over 24 months (£98 up front then £15 a month or something like that).... would be good to find a tariff to play T-Mob off against when you call them or they call you.

    Hope it helps.

    Ok - my experience.

2 year contract about to expire. £15.86 for 300 mins, 300 text, unlimited landline, 3 GB Data.

I wanted a Razr i - taking a risk with the intel chipped single core.

Anyway - 7 Jan. Showing on my web site at £119.

Phoned up - got through to some back-room, follow the sun, call centre somewhere that relied on printouts of the deals. She dropped that to £70. So £49 drop straight away

Online chat early Sunday morning (very quick, very good) and got it to £40.

I know in a month or so it will be less, but with tech you have to accept that.

The online chat I think will only come up if there are trained people available. So it may be best if replying here to state time and day of any good online chats.

As I said - mine was about 9:30 on a Sunday morning

  • Well I tried online chat and to be honest the deals were not what I wanted.

For example only knocking off £50 off a phone when I am willing to sign up to another 2 years contract (not missed a payment ever) is in my mind not good enough.

Anyway, as I suspected the best deals are with retentions so I shall wait till the 24th (one month before contract ends) cancel and see what they offer me in retentions.

Phoned up to request my PAC. Best I got offered was £27.76 a month for 18 months and £100 for the phone so only a few pence better than the online chat.
  • Have just come to the end of my 2 year £30 a month contract.

Want to switch to a sim-only deal and tried the online chat first. No offer of a loyalty discount and then tried the call centre and the best they can offer is their sim-only deals for new customers. Not impressed. Got my PAC code and am moving to Virgin.

Music to my ears.... makes me smile inside when people ring up to cancel, get offered nothing and then backtrack because they can't bear to leave or live without their beloved mobile phone / Sky / Virgin Media etc....

Well I cancelled today after being offered next to nothing by retentions.

To be honest I didnt ask for anything extravagant but they were unable to match a competitors price! I would have thought they would have done that and bettered it. To make matters worse, they have a phone I want for around the same price Im paying now but thats not available due to it being from a 3rd party seller.

    Bye T-Mobile!!

    Greetings Money Savers,

My current T mobile price plan is no longer available...it's an old one.

I am due an upgrade as my contract ends in early Feb 2013.

My Current Package is Everyone off-peak 2000
2000 mins (X Network) at off peak times to UK Mobiles/Landlines
(After 7.00 pm and at weekend/public holiday) and 50 text messages)

    I pay £4.25 for Internet.

    I've been with T-Mobile from day one.....since One2One days.
...therefore, I get a really good loyalty discount.

I'm on a 12 month contact and I get all this for approximately £15.00 per month.

I have spoken to loyalty & retention a few times.
*They refuse to offer me the same price plan at the same cost.
    * They refuse to offer me 12 month contract.
    * They refuse let me keep my full loyalty discount of £16.

They are only offering me the 24 month contracts like the "Full Monty" package.....with no loyalty discount.

T-Mobile have really changed their retention's policy!!....

Normally, T-Moblie give me the option of staying on my current price plan.

Not this time ...they wont budge!!

When talking to retentions, they make me feel like I'm being greedy for asking to stay on the same price plan that i've been on for years whilst keeping my well earned loyalty discount!!

Shall I persist? or is it time to end my 14/15 year relationship with one2one/T-mobile!!

Shall I ask to speak to a Supervisor or ask for my pac code?

    Any suggestions please ?
