What do you think my chances are with this?

Was offered it on their LiveChat, and seems far to good to be true. I confirmed everything step by step, the texts, data, mins etc etc.

    375mins
    Unltd texts and data
    £29pcm
    £100 up front
    Galaxy Note 2
    12 month contract

Total price £448 - which is a little over the price for the phone sim free.

    My questions are:

    - This seems to good to be true, which makes me think it isn't. But if I have a copy of the transcript, clear with the offer made, do I have a leg to stand on in terms of arguing this if it doesn't turn up?

info: Thank you for choosing T-Mobile. A T-Mobile Adviser will be with you shortly.
info: You are now connected with Becky.
Becky: Hi, you're chatting with Becky, may I take your name and mobile number please?
    You: XXXX XXXXXXXXXXX
Becky: Thanks XXXX, how can I help?
You: I am due an upgrade, and have chosen a phone I want from the options. I would like to stay on a 12m contract and chosen the Galaxy Note 2. My question is, will my tarrif stay the same?
You: The upgrade price is £284.99 (upfront) and then will my normal monthly payments be £35?
Becky: I can offer you the note 2 for £100 and yes your £35 monthly payments will remain the same
You: But will that be on a 12month contract?
Becky: yes it will 12 months!
You: What will be included in that tarrif? Mins?Texts?Data etc?
Becky: it will be same as you are on now 375 mins, unlimited texts and internet
You: How do I order that deal? Sounds good!
Becky: fab, would you like it in white or titanium?
    You: white please
Becky: actually, I can also reduce the cost from £35 inc VAT to £29 inc VAT
You: So, £29per month for 375mins, unlimited texts and data, and £100 for a White Galaxy Note 2. Is that right?
You: Just want to make sure - new to this live chat thing :)
Becky: ha ha no problem, that is absolutely correct £29 a month inc VAT and £100 for the note 2!

You: Sounds great - so how do I take that?
Becky: I'll get that order in a moment. we also offer some great options to ensure your phone is covered if anything unexpected were to happen. This is called Clone Phone Fully Loaded.
Becky: Clone Phone Fully Loaded will cover your phone against loss, theft, accidental damage and you get a full warranty from EE against any faults on the phone.
Becky: You will also get 16GB of online back up storage - meaning we will back up all your Apps, Contacts, Photos, Videos and Music. This means when you get a new phone you get everything back!
Becky: We also offer 'Find My Phone' which pin points where your phone is if it's lost and also we can remotely wipe the content to ensure no one can access your personal information.
Becky: The service will cost you just £14 a month and is part of your monthly bill. Would you like me to set that up for you?
You: No that is OK thanks - the phone deal is OK
Becky: that is fine, just ordering it now, I am going to send you all the info regarding the order now. There's a lot of info attached, but I'll explain how you can save our chat for your records at the end...

Becky: The phone will be delivered to your registered home address (this can be chcked on your My-T-Mobile account) within 2-5 working days before 6pm via UK Mail. The package will require a signature, this can be You will receive a text nearer to the day of delivery confirming a more accurate time and you can respond to this to amend the delivery options if not appropriate.

Becky: thats all done now for you Neal, is there anything else I can help you with?
You: Just one Q - when will the first payment be taken? will it be taken with my standard payment (next one due in January?)
Becky: your billing date is remaining the same so next month for the payment
You: OK - brilliant. When will my Tmobile account be updated with the details of the new phone etc?
Becky: only after the phone has been delivered
You: OK - and that will be in the next 3-5 days, and I will get a text before confirming it?
Becky: sorry xxxx! thats all done our end!
You: Great - so I await my new phone and my new price will be effective from January? Thanks for your help!
Becky: you are welcome1 have a nice night!
    You: Thanks

I was logged in and the pop up came up last night (just as I was about to complete an upgrade online)

  • I've been with t mob for years. Hardly ever upgrade my phone. When my contracts end they have always just continued to bill me for whatever I was on and it all stayed the Same? Unless something has changed recently if you are on a deal you are happy with try just doing nothing. They can't change it surely unless you sign a further agreement?

I did change mine in feb this year for an iPhone but before that I always just let them keep on rolling on...
  • To update on the above.

I rang up T-mobile I was thinking it was too good to be true. After being passed around, finally spoke to the right team. The person I spoke to confirmed (without me mentioning anything) the content of the chat, and said my phone should be shipped tomorrow.

Will wait and see but it seems legit. (But with T-mobile you never know!)
  • Just to let you all know, the deal came through.

I called up and the reason for the delay was because the phone was out of stock. I asked on LiveChat if I could go in store and collect, and they said yes.

So £29pcm 500mins, unlimited texts and data, 12 month contract, and £100 up front for an LTE Galaxy Note 2.

    Made up with that :money:

I tried to get the deal barnestuta posted but they denied they could give me it and have refered me to 'Becky'

Wait with baited breath whether I will get an email to get a similar deal. paying 100 quid across 12 months gives a contract cost of £37 per month for the period.. but for a further 12 months a sim only deal would cost much less... so even across 24 months its quite favourable.

  • i'm pretty much at the end of a 24 month contract that came with a desire hd with 600 mins 500 txts unlimited data and free t mobile - t mobile calls as a flexible booster for around £26 a month.

i rung up and asked for my pac code 2 days ago, they tried to see what they could do, but it turns out nothing!! just got offered the same deals that are on the web site, for phones like s3 / one x, they wanted around £20 to say as i am on sim only.

what deals are people getting offered on the s3? £49 then £36 a month for the full monty is what was offered.

looking into the htc one x + on t mobile through phones4u / dialaphone - free then £36 a month on the full monty, but the flexible booster is used on txts

I'm currently on £15.88 for 300 mins, unlimited texts, 3 gb internet. I'd like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and was being offered the upgrade for £119. I went on their web chat and have been offered the same package with the S2 for £10. Not bad, saved £109! Seems a good offer to me as the phones are selling for approx £260-£290.
