    Hi

I got told from T Mobile that I can upgrade from 11th Sept so I went into the shop and the deals being offered were poor considering Iv been with them since 1998.
The amount of time you've with T-Mobile is completely irrelevant to what you get offered at upgrade time. As you've found out, loyalty means nothing.
I did but still not happy and also the man in the shop said that if I dont decide by 20th Sept (tomorrow), they will remove my offer of an upgrade all together. I doubt I can get there tonight to have another look and am worried as I dont know what will happen. i didnt know they gave you a deadline to decide. Does anyone know if this is true?
Never heard of any such thing, I suspect it was a tactic to make you rush into a decision. You need decide what phone you want and work out how many minutes/texts/data you need. Then have a look on moneysupermarket, omio and uswitch and see which network will give you what you want for the least money.

After you've done that, ring T-Mobile up and request your PAC from them. They should then ring a few days later with better offers to keep you on. If they can't beat what you've been offered, leave.

Be aware that T-Mobile are wrongly charging people for early termination and that their unlimited browsing is not the same as unlimited internet/data.
  • Been on T-Mobile special deal at £7.50 a month for 2 years now (600 mins, 500 texts, unlimited browsing, 2 free boosters), they have offered the same deal for another 12 months. result :-)
  • I called for my PAC today and I was literally offered nothing. The guy tried to get technical with me and confuse me into staying with T-Mobile but I just queried all of his pointless comments (I particularly enjoyed him telling me having an iPhone 5 on any other network was like having a Renault engine in a Ferrari - extreme analogy!) I'm not sure how quickly I will get the iPhone as it is dependant on store stock but I doubt T-Mobile will make a call in a few days to try to keep me - I could have been swayed on the call for my PAC, but not now I don't think.
  • Check your bill, you're likely to have an early termination or a notice period charge wrongly added to your account.
  • Having never dealt with retentions before, I wonder if I will be offered anything.

I'm currently on the 300 mins, unlimited texts deal that got mispriced 12 months back.

All i'm after is something like the virgin deal (100 mins, unlimited texts) for £5. dont need any data

Got to the end of my 24 month contract and was offered a £6 discount per month if I renew.

300 min, 300 text and unlimited internet for about £8 per month.

    I'm happy :-)
  • Do they actually call you back with further offers after you've put in your cancellation and rejected the initial deals ?
  • Yes they do.

They didnt this time round for me, although they have done before

Interestingly at CW TMobile had me listed as "not eligible" for an upgrade too which is again strange

And then they hit me with a £20 penalty for porting out 2 days before my contract actually finished!

(I argued to get this reduced to 2 days worth which they agreed to on the phone yet it still stands on my account so take care)
  • I'd phone them and get them to refund it, they're hoping you forget. Make sure you get the money back for the month you've already paid for that you can't use, T-Mobile contract are paid monthly in advance.
