You won't keep your 3GB allowance if you renew. T-Mobile give allowances of 250MB/750MB/1.5GB on contracts for new and upgrading customers (with unlimited browsing and email) and unlimited data on Full Monty.
If your usage involves a lot of streaming, it's a good idea to be on an unlimited data contract from either Three, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile or giffgaff if you want to go PAYG.
Log into your My T-Mobile account and have a look at how much data (and minutes) you've been using over the last 12 months or so and take it from there.0 -
Presumably if I just continue paying my rental outside of my contract period (only £10 pm) I'll keep my current 3gb data allowance0

Yes you do. I've gone past my upgrade date by a few months on the same £10 package and just had it confirmed on the java chat thing on their upgrade page that I'm still on 3gb data.
Looks like you get better deals ringing them. If I'd been offered an Galaxy Ace 2 for free (which I asked about) or an S2 for £60 like other posters in this thread, I'd have jumped at them. The whole procedure has left me confused at to what I'd have to pay upfront and what I'd subsequently have to pay each month. No fault of the person on the other end of the chat thing who was genuinely really helpful; I just don't think it's the right medium for this kind of conversation...
The only thing I'm now certain of is if i stay on my current plan, I can have a Galaxy Mini2 free! Crikey.0 -
I was told today by tm that when my contract expires I'll lose a £5 loyalty bonus and I'll need to pay £15 pm to keep my current allowance (inc the 3gb data)0

are you in 30 days if so request pac code see if that changes there mind about your allowance be prepared to leave and look elsewhere.0

As mobilefone says, request your PAC and see what they offer when they call you back.0 -
Called 150 today, got through to upgrades, and they offered my Galaxy S2 for £60 on current contract:
I'm currently on £10/month:
100 minutes
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet.
I'm going to go for it, as it seems a good deal, and I don't need any more minutes.
This sounds like a really good deal. I use more minutes though, so do people feel that it would be do-able to get a similar SII deal but with 300mins and less texts and internet for £15 pounds a month?
The Samsung SII is available free with mobiles.co.uk with 300 mins, unlimited texts and 250MB internet for £14 a month but it's by redemption, plus i'd have to leave t-mobile then move back, so if I can avoid that hassle and stick with them I'd be willing to pay slightly more.
Also, when upgrading/renewing a contract can you change both phone and mins/texts allowance, or don't they tend to like people doing that?0 -
I'm also trying to get my head round requesting PAC from T mobile without incurring extra charges.
End of contract 14th Oct, will be calling on 14th Sept, but fully expecting them to tell me there will be a penalty charge...
Well I called today, didn't mention anything about a penalty charge so will just have to check bills.
Also when I asked for pac they just gave it me, no offers whatsoever!
although I am only on £10 sim only, so not worth anything to them.
now to wait for a killer deal on the s3!...0 -
They didn't tell me anything about any charge either, they still added onto my bill though.0

I called T-Mobile (150) this morning as my discounted £7.50 12 month sim only deal was coming to an end in 6 days.
I requested my PAC and the lady just said she was surprised I could find a deal better/cheaper than the one i was currently on - so I replied saying that I assumed the price would be increasing, she said no I will renew on same deal for you. Sold!
I told her I had purchased the new iPhone 5 from Apple so she is sending out a new nano sim next week as soon as they become available!
Very happy0
