I'm also trying to get my head round requesting PAC from T mobile without incurring extra charges.
End of contract 14th Oct, will be calling on 14th Sept, but fully expecting them to tell me there will be a penalty charge...0 -

If you port your number 2 or 3 days before the end, they are entitled to charge you for the remaining 2 or 3 days but usually don't.
T-Mobile are trying to charge people for giving notice (by getting a PAC) or charging for early termination before the PAC is even used, which they shouldn't be doing, the fact that they are refunding these charges when challenged seems to prove this.0 -

Asking for a PAC and using it are 2 different things.
Bear in mind those terms are 2012 ones, anybody coming to the end of their contract now won't be subject to those terms.0 -
Search the forum, people have had these charges refunded, there's someone on the previous page of this thread who did.0

I was hoping someone could help me. I'm looking to start a new tmobile contract instead of upgrading my current one. I want to keep my number though and have heard the only way to do this is to port it to another network and then port it back to tmobile. Can someone suggest me the network that I could port to that would be least fuss and would allow me to port back fairly easily? Thanks in advance!0
