you can use all the data you want over Wifi as its not going through the phone network and hence doesn't count against your allowances.0

Shame the guy that i spoke to didn't actually explain this to me.But, i don't think it matters too much (in my situation anyway.) Most of the time i'm actually hooked up to wifi, so i should be ok?0

Got offered 300 mins, 08 numbers and voicemail, 5000 texts, 500mins tmob to tmob and unlimited internet for £10 on a 12 month contract sim only.
I'm not sure if it's a good deal, but it's good enough for me as i only wanted to pay about a tenner anyway (was previously paying £35-£40.)
Following on from this... i had a think and decided the offer wasn't actually that good, as it's available online to new customers.
So, called up to request my PAC as there were better deals elsewhere.
Received a call back a couple of days later.
Got offered 600 mins, 08 numbers and voicemails, 5000 texts, 500mins tmob to tmob, unlimited browsing + 750MB data for £10 a month (including VAT,) giving me the first month free on a 12 month contract, sim only.
Had to speak to two people to get that deal though.
Couldn't say no to that!0 -

Nice one!
But curious how they have split your data between unlimited browsing and 750MB for Youtube, how does this work exactly?? Can they really see where each MB goes or am I missing something basic?0 -
I started the new round of negotiations yesterday with TMobile
Their reception is better than most at my house and so Im always happy to compromise a bit on getting the best network deal to stay with them
Currently on an old Flex35 contract which is a bit of a dogs breakfast with loyalty discounts and mysterious free add ons, thinking its time to move to something simple like the 300min, unlimited text and 750MB data they advertise
Id mistakenly thought I was within a month of my contract finishing, however I was actually a month away from being able to renew but had a chat with the polite guy in the upgrade office - both of us knew he wouldnt offer anything amazing at this point and so I didnt even ask him
He did ask what I would be looking for next month and said the above deal with a 'free' HTC One X or Galaxy S3 on a 2y contract for the same or less than the £26 I currently pay, he lead me to believe that should be OK with the HTC but the Samsung is too new for any deals at the moment
I'll post again in a month or so
Perfectly happy to go through the PAC code charade when the time comes as is usual0 -

Firstly it's highly unlikely I will use that.
But I have no idea.... I actually don't he said if I go over my allowance, YouTube etc will stop working between 4pm & 9am?
You know what, I may ring them and ask exactly what it is.
I said to him I need Facebook, iMessenger and Twitter, he said that was definitely unlimited.
YouTube etc I couldn't care less.0 -

I just switched mine to PAYG this week. I don't want to lose the number straight away so I will keep it on one of my older phones for a few months . Apart from the initial top up I don't think I'll do any more. I'm with giffgaff already.
T-Mobile tried to offer me another contract for £8 / month 300 mins 5000 texts and 250MB internet. I obviously refused. For me the internet is the main thing I want so there is no tariff within T-Mobile that I would consider. They are simply not good enough. And the only reason to have the last contract was to get a new phone (combined phone + the tariff including mins/texts/unlimited internet seemed like a good deal at the time), I see no point in paying monthly (for another 12 months) when giffgaff offers so much more for the money without 12 month contract.0 -
I am on a £20/month contract with T-Mobile and am coming up for renewal in August.
Wanted a Galaxy SIII and the cheapest I could find on the internet was another T-Mobile contract free on £26/month* with 300 mins, unlimited texts and 750MB data. T-Mobile were offering the same deal to new customers but would charge £150 for the handset. I wanted to keep my existing number though and I know T-Mobile won't migrate a number between T-Mobile contracts.
When I phoned up retentions (options 2-2-2 on 150) to ask for my PAC code they said they could offer me the new customer offer but couldn't do any better because it's such a new handset. I also asked about the Galaxy Note but it's the same story. They said a lot of these online sites are offering these deals they can't match, but then tried to say it was because they didn't have to offer such good customer service so could afford to charge less - and if there's a problem with the handset I would have to deal with them rather than T-Mobile and might have problems. Load of rubbish but I said I was OK with that.
She first asked whether I wanted to give my 30 days notice but I said I'd like my PAC code because I wanted to keep my number on a PAYG SIM from another network "in case my friends still use my old number" when I get this new contract. Obviously in reality I'll be porting the number back to the new contract anyway once it has transferred successfully to the PAYG SIM.
She said that because I was still in contract until 18th August there would be a charge of £7.50 for the PAC code which I agreed to as the alternative I think would have been waiting until the date of my contract expiry and then having to pay for service for another 30 days notice anyway, so £7.50 to close the deal seemed OK.
Ordered a free PAYG SIM from Orange just now. Will wait for that to arrive and the number to port before taking out the new contract with T-Mobile. Of course, if they phone up before then offering to match the online deal I'm going to be open for negotiation...
Will keep people informed as to what happens, but I suspect the golden days of someone from retentions phoning you up to match the best deal you can find online (or beat it) are alas gone, at least for the latest most expensive handsets.
(* ok it had some cashback, bringing it down to £23ish, plus topcashback but I don't really count that until it's in the bank so wasn't using it for comparison purposes).0
