Great! Thats whats im ideally looking for, my contract on my hero expires in may.

well you can only ask !!!

At the beginning of the contract i was using all of my allowance and some more but in the past 4 months i have only been using about half of it.

Its only a £5 a month so gotta be worth it i suppose.

Think new SE "arc" phone is due within a couple of weeks and also maybe looking at new Xperia Play

    darren
  • I got a similar deal recently too. I also had a Hero and needed to reduce my bills. Was on a Flext 35. Got offered the same, 300 mins, unlimited text and internet but also with a HTC Wildfire for £5 per month on a 24 month contract. The Wildfire wasn't my 1st choice of phone but was a really good deal so went for it. & I quite like the phone now. Didnt really have to haggle to get this deal either.

    Current contract:
'Free' HTC Hero clone G2 Touch
    800 mins x-network
    Unlimited texts
    3GB data
    18 months contract

Official title for the above is the combi 35 megadeal which was offered at £25 per month - now a bit more with VAT

Been offered a regular Desire through the web interface at 70 pounds cost to me with the same plan for another 18 months

Spoken to retentions but did NOT ask for pac number

    Offered:

HTC Desire HD (I wanted an Incredible S but t-mobile cant sell them direct to me)
    300 minutes
    300 texts
    Unlimited web
Plus a booster of either unlimited texts, landline or t-mobile calls
    18 months contract
    £30 a month

    This seems a bit rubbish
Or did I just do spectacularly well last time round?

    Any comments??
Do you need to ask for a PAC to get the best deals?

    Ok then I'll bite :)

    What's your Hero deal?
And which posts here make you think you are on a promise with a Desire HD?

I was pretty happy with my Hero contract
But more money for less than half the talk time plus a phone which has been around for ages and is about to be blown away by the dual core Android phones seems weak

Dont they know theres a recession happening :) ??

call 150 and ask to cancel - u will be put through to cancellations / save desk. If there is a good deal to be had u will get it there.
"topcat, if CPW got you that deal then t-mobile could have also got u that - they dont have any more power that t-mobile can to get u a deal - unless there is a significant difference in internal phone cost. If what CPW have told u is actually correct........ check online account to see what u have is correct. t-mob / orange / voda ect. loose money when customers upgrade through CPW ect. So as i said unless there is significant cost difference in the actual phones in relation to how much (loyalty - money) these companies habe to spend on you then direct should be better than an instore upgrade. This is not the same however for new connections as this is a totally different story.

    Hi,
I DID try T-mobile, they were very helpful and polite (as always IMO), uk based, just what I want.

I have been with t-mobile for over 10 years, but just wish they would offer these deals direct. It would have been ideal for me personally , however it was not offered so I went elsewhere.

It only took one short call from the guy in the local CPW to get this deal, so my question is why dont they offer this direct to T-mobile customers?

"they dont have any more power that t-mobile " - I disagree. They are acting as an agent, have far more purchasing power than I! My spend is £5 per month - I am sure CPW pay more per month. Well, pretty sure :j

And yes I have checked my bill online - it all adds up (admit I had to make one call as the unlimited texts wer not included), but apart from that all fine - for the first time in my life I received a credit on my bill last month (way hay 52p - ish!)

    PS
Was on the combi 25 deal previously and was gobsmacked with this huge reduction TBH
  • Thanks for posting updates people. I too am coming to the end of my Hero contract in just over a month. Hoping to get a decent deal on the LG 2X, Desire S or Galaxy S2 when they come out.

    Ok, I'll bite back :)

my post has been taken from another thread and dumped here so totally out of context ,

Im on unlimited text, unlimited data and 600 mins for £20 per month with no upfront costs. It should have been £200 for the handset at the time. I'd like something similar with the desire HD
