T-Mobile Retentions

So my contract is coming to an end. Family plan - 3 lines, my faves, 1800 min and unlimited texts. Thinking about switching to family plan with 3,000 min, unlimited texts, and 200mg data (would like more, but its just way to expensive). I have been a customer with tmobile for 8 years. I am NOT happy at all with the free phone selection, If i call and threaten to cancel and get the retentions department, will I get a better free smart phone, because the free selection online sucks0

If you are looking at the online "My Tmobile" upgrades section, no wonder you are getting offered sh*t handsets....
You have to get through to retentions too have a hope of getting a good deal.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Were you offered a new Flext deal? I'm coming to the end of my Flext 40 deal and woul;d liek to continue withh it as I can make international calls. Rather than pay £40 per month, I'd like to get that down as much as possible. anyone been in a similar position?
I was also on the Flext deal as you can make calls to 0845, 0870, voicemail and international calls all come from your allowance.
My renewal offer was Flext 35 (£229.78 allowance to be used as i like) with a years £10 loyalty discount. Making my monthly bill £25.52.
This is without a contract term so can change or cancel when i wish
Also this includes the web and walk plus with 3gb fair useage0 -
Result!
Cold called today by the 'loyalty team'
Generally sucked up to and asked what they could do for me
I said I was waiting for the new wave of phones over the summer and wanted to go SIM only on 30 day contract
They offered a rubbish deal on this so I mentioned Giffgaff doing 250 mins for a tenner
Then asked what would make me stay so I said an HTC Incredible S would at no cost over 18 months, but I was happy to haggle on airtime
Told they couldnt do this phone, so I politely asked for a PAC.
Called back an hour later and I am now sitting in front of a shiny new Incredible S, at no cost, over 18 months with 300 mins, UL texts and 1GB of data
Im very happy
They organised for me to pick it up at my local Carphone Warehouse where the manager told me Id done well
Good luck everyone0 -
good deal. how much are you now paying0
-
Oops good point
£25 a month
Which is the same as my original contract 18/12 ago and less than I am paying currently with the VAT increase
I wasnt using 800 mins so am fine with 300
Cheers0 -
@iamsporticus...
Was it CPW you cold called or t-mobile direct?
And when you say "called back" did you mean they called you back or you called them back?

T-mobile cold called me
My contract officially terminates in 3 weeks
I had spoken to retentions last week and said Id think about what they had to offer - which wasnt much actually, that was the Desire HD for 30 quid with 300 mins package
Yesterday I was called out of the blue by the loyalty team
I mentioned Id spoken to retentions and they said they were a different team
This guy knew his stuff but I did get the expected guff about the iPhone5 not being available till after Christmas which was poor of him although he didnt argue about the new dual core HTC phones being imminent
I knew they couldnt do the Incredible S and in all honesty that was the phone i really wanted and had done my homework with Giffgaff for a SIM only period to get the Incredible through CW and so asked for a PAC
He called back an hour later and agreed the deal I mentioned
All I had to do was go to any CW, flash them some ID, sign the pre prepared contract and walk out with the latest shiny gizmo wahey
Im very happy to say the least but if you do the maths they are still doing OK from me
Upgrade price of phone at CW = £319.99 then 18 months on the t-mobile £7.50 special deal comes to about the same price
Cheers0 -
Well done ! I'd considered that phone but wanted to stay with T-mobileBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

Good deal on the Incredible S. I called up last week as my contract is ending and had my PAC in about two minutes, no offers made. They just said would be happy to see me back in future.0
