    Result!

Cold called today by the 'loyalty team'
Generally sucked up to and asked what they could do for me

I said I was waiting for the new wave of phones over the summer and wanted to go SIM only on 30 day contract

They offered a rubbish deal on this so I mentioned Giffgaff doing 250 mins for a tenner

Then asked what would make me stay so I said an HTC Incredible S would at no cost over 18 months, but I was happy to haggle on airtime
Told they couldnt do this phone, so I politely asked for a PAC.

Called back an hour later and I am now sitting in front of a shiny new Incredible S, at no cost, over 18 months with 300 mins, UL texts and 1GB of data

    Im very happy :)

They organised for me to pick it up at my local Carphone Warehouse where the manager told me Id done well

    Good luck everyone

I think I'm on the same deal as you were, but paying £23 a month at the moment. I'm hoping to upgrade my Hero when I get to within 30 days of the end of my contract (this Saturday), just hope I can get a deal like this.

I called retentions yesterday and they didn't really do anything for me. They wanted me to move to a 24 month £30 contract before I could get a free Samsung Galaxy S. When I said that I could go via another website and get the same phone for free on a £25/month contract with 9 months cashback by redemption and some quidco cashback, the guy just said they couldn't match those deals and handed over my PAC straight away.

I'm now hoping I get a call from the "Loyalty" team now, otherwise I'll be looking for a new contract elsewhere (I'm thinking Google Nexus S, Sony Xperia Arc or LG Optimus Black).

    Heads up guys...

My HTC Hero £25 a month 18m contract (200 mins, 200 texts, unlimited data) ends in a month.

After having T-Mobile confirm they probably wouldn't be getting the LG Optimus 2X or the Samsung Galaxy S2, I rang them to get my PAC today...

Guy on the phone said they could do the O2X through Carphone Warehouse and says he will look at deals for me.

Comes back with £100 for the phone, £10 a month for 100 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data, 24 months. Couldn't believe my ears so ordered it immediately.

Its going to cost me £340 for a phone that sells sim free for £450... plus I get 24 months of usage out of that too.

Always swore i'd never have a 24m contract (said that about 18 too) but even if i keep it 18 months and pay off the contract, still only cost me £19 a month which is less than I am paying for my Hero...

So impressed with that deal, for a phone that's only just come out, worlds first dual core phone... bargain.

Best thing about it is I can sell my old phone for about £75 so that is most of the £100 sorted already.

Not sure if anyone else will be able to get this with it being a renewal. When I spoke to CPW they said something about they charge the phone back to T-Mobile for £300 and T-Mobile were giving me £200 loyalty credit towards that, hence the £100 I had to pay. Its not as if I am a big spender to get that £200 loyalty credit though - very rarely go over my inclusive mins / texts and when I do its never more than £1 / £2
A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

My contract officially terminates in 3 weeks

I had spoken to retentions last week and said Id think about what they had to offer - which wasnt much actually, that was the Desire HD for 30 quid with 300 mins package

Yesterday I was called out of the blue by the loyalty team
I mentioned Id spoken to retentions and they said they were a different team

This guy knew his stuff but I did get the expected guff about the iPhone5 not being available till after Christmas which was poor of him although he didnt argue about the new dual core HTC phones being imminent

I knew they couldnt do the Incredible S and in all honesty that was the phone i really wanted and had done my homework with Giffgaff for a SIM only period to get the Incredible through CW and so asked for a PAC

He called back an hour later and agreed the deal I mentioned
All I had to do was go to any CW, flash them some ID, sign the pre prepared contract and walk out with the latest shiny gizmo wahey

Im very happy to say the least but if you do the maths they are still doing OK from me
Upgrade price of phone at CW = £319.99 then 18 months on the t-mobile £7.50 special deal comes to about the same price

    Cheers
    Thats brilliant. So 25*18=450 !
My contract ends in August I think so I'm hoping in the end of July I can just show them your post and they will do the same for me.

Do you think they would do that? I pay £30 for 18th months (900 mins/unlimited txts/3gb int/HTC Hero) I only use about 300 minutes. And I do go over 1gb of data but I think I'll cope.

So do you they would 'match' what they did for you. I have my heart set on the Incredible S :o

In terms of the Desire , Desire S and Desire HD
The Desire S has better battery life and specs than the Desire.
The Desire HD has a large and brilliant screen, good specs but battery life is poor.

Then there is the Incredible and Incredible S.
'S' one has a large screen as well with good res but also has good battery life. So imo Incredible S is the best. Only problem with it imo is I'm not a fan of the 'contour' shape sort of design at the back of the phone.

I think it depends who you speak to. I called 3 weeks ago. Been with tmobile for 18 months on 30 tariff. When asked why I wanted to leave they agreed that they didn't do the incredible s and gave me pac. Whole call lasted about 2 minutes. I now have inc s with Orange for 25 a month and no more annoying charges to access voicemail.

You can get the T-Mobile Voicemail add on for £2.13 a month so that you don't incure the voicemail charges for anyone in a T-Mobile contract at the moment.
