  • after reading some of your posts, i just want to give you some tips:

advisors will not offer you any deal on any phone that is out off stock! you will have to call back when its in stock again.

i know at the moment the phones are out of stock is:
    Blackberry Bold
    Samsung tocco

The C902 sony is back in stock!

Stop calling rententions using 202, call 100 and ask them transfer you to rententions, make should the advistor you talk to sound like he/she is from liverpool/scouse. if there accent is yorkshire or welsh, stick the phone down and try again as this is a free call or try the 08706007102 press 2 press 2.

i must stress anyone waiting on the iphone, dont upgrade yet as there is rentention deals coming out for this phone around November.

Also there are new phones coming out for christmas, this cant be comfirmed till the deal is signed.

    XDA crystal

Sony Ericsson C905 8 Megapixel Camera Phone http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=19_rqa7xSzc

    Samsung Pixon http://www.t3.com/news/samsung-pixon-m8800-8-0-megapixel-touchscreen-mobile-confirmed?=36824

alots of others, so if you dont really like any of the phones on the market it now, dont upgrade yet, try and hold out!

Are the numbers free to call to 02 about upgrades etc or do they charge you?

calls are free if you call 100 from your mobile and ask them transfer you to rententions or upgrades.

I just called the Preston number, was initially offered the £20 simplicity deal which surprised me as I've been paying £40 a month for the last 11 months. The problem I've got is that I'm on a cash back deal with E2Save (Price Match) so I need my final original bill showing my current tariff before I can accept any offer. The person I spoke to couldn't give me an idea of what sort of deal would be on offer as the they will have changed by the time I call back next month.

I did say I could get the Omnia on Vodafone with unlimited internet, 600 x-net mins and unlimited texts for just £26 a month through Quidco so the simplicity offer wasn't that good really. I'd have been happy with the simplicity offer for £10 but it makes me think that you will always be offered a pretty poor deal in the hope that there are some people that are happy to accept it. I'm going to call back in a few days to give 30 days notice.

I'd like to add the representitive I spoke to was very polite throughout the call.

Thanks for the info, do you mean retention deals on the i-phone for any O2 customer or existing older I-phone holders?

I rand retentions a minute ago but the system was down, I quickly asked if the C905 had been relesed today (as I was told last week) and she said they were, but they'd not arrived yet, and to call back this afternoon.

I've been following the advice in this thread as my contract is up on the 4th November. I rung the 0870 number on the previous page recommended by chattycathyuk followed by 2 and then 2, but must have got upgrades only as I said I was thinking of leaving for a better deal elsewhere and only got offered a free SE C902 on my £35/12mth contract (600mins/1000txts) but with a change to 18 months contracts or a free SE C702 on my £35 contract but over 12mths with 400mins/1000txts. I don't particularly see the 7/902 as upgrades to my K800i but used these as examples before I can get prices on the C905 (apparantly in stock and on system from tomorrow).

I've been with O2 for 8yrs (5 or 6 of them contract) and always in the past been offered a loyalty discount of £15 a month so wondering why I didn't get anything now. I also have the web bolt on (£7.50) and have bills up to £50 a month (most about £30).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers.

    I got offered a great deal today! My contract is due to finish tomorrow and I requested my PAC code today. The guy asked why I wanted to leave o2 and I said that the only phone I was even half bothered about was the Bold and o2 simply weren't offering any decent deals. He told me I could get;

    My contract reduced to £27/mth
    1000 Texts
    1200 Minutes
    Unlimited data

but I'd need to pay £50 for the Blackberry Bold. Pretty good, he tells me to call back tomorrow and let them know what I wanna do, if I decline, they'll accept my 30 days notice. The deal is good, but I hate the idea of paying any money for a phone when I'm on contract and when I'm a customer using around 1100 minutes and 1400 texts. He said himself my usage is "extremely high" and on a £35 a month contract I'm paying between £45 and £90 a month going over my minutes/texts. I may accept the offer if they offer me unlimited texts..not sure yet.

My contract (12 months free on dialaphone) ends in 4 weeks time and I called for my PAC code today. Based on my usage I was offered a 12 month contract with no phone;-

    75 minutes per month
    250 texts per month
    £100 credit

So for a year my cost will be £20, assuming I don't go over my allowance (this is likely). seems a damn good deal and, since there are no great cashback deals on offer I'm likely to accept. I'll leave it until my current contract is nearing its last few days just in case they offer something better.

I received a call from the winback team today. I was made two offers, both involving the same calla and text package I've mentioned above, both with an 18 month contract;-
    1. £10 per month, credit £150, so cost over 18 months = £30.
    2. £5 per month, credit £100, so nil cost over 18 months.
I want my current contract to run out as the cashback T&C require me to run the full 12 months (ends 13 Nov). I don't want to take the chance that they will put me straight on to the new deal and jeopardise the final cashback. I think I'll go for the £5 per month deal - it suits my needs and 02 reception has never been a problem.
