Chattycathyuk - thanks for the info. Do you work for O2 retentions by any chance?

I've just flogged the Ignito received today within 6 hours of placing it on ebay - received payment already. Sold as a buy it now for £240, you may want to consider this instead of accepting 150 credit. Seems to go for about 240 - 255 over 7 day auction, was happy to take the lower end quickly. However if you're thinking of doing this act quickly, phones like this drop in value pretty quickly as the quantity on sale increases.
As I wanted the N95 8GB, I may buy one on ebay (seems to go for a similar amount). Alternatively, I might wait until the N96 is in the £250 region which will probably be around Xmas. My original N95 is working fantastically since the firmware was updated, it even has BBC iPlayer now (shame it only works on wifi though).
Decisions, decisions
Hi there Mark,
What's the battery life after the firmware upgrade? Any better?

How odd it seems it was the sales dept i spoke towho offered me the rubbish deal. just spoke to loyalty dept at CPW (i think
) who said they don't get the ignito in till monday so couldnt offer me a deal on ityet. offered me a sim only deal at £5p m ater c/back with 800 xnet mins on an 18 month contract. i said ring me back mon with an ignito deal

Just had the "Winback" team give me a call... going to explain me through the disconnection process etc, did they heck! Lol!
They STILL wont budge, they wont offer me anything at £20.00 per month, the best they can do is:
1200 Minutes
1000 Texts
Unlimited Web
Free XDA Ignito
18 Month Contract
£27.00 Per Month
However the woman has said, I can continue on what I am on now with the following deal:
400 Minutes
1000 Texts
1MB Web Browsing
No Free Phone
12 Month Contract :money:
£150 Account Credit
£25.00 Per Month
With the credit, it essentially halves the line rental to £12.50 per month, however I get to stay on a 12 month contract and will be able to upgrade again in 11 months which means the cost of the year will be £137.50.
The other tariff works out at £459.00 per month although I did consider selling the XDA so this may fetch around £200.00, which would mean around £259.00+ for the 18 months.
The only thing I don't like about the plan I am on now is the limited web browsing.
She is going to call me back later, does anyone think I will be able to push her for unlimited web browsing on the 12 month tariff, given the £150.00 discount already on offer? I am aware it is only £7.50 per month, and this could be handy as I would only take it when I need it, which isnt very often, maybe 4 months of the year, but anything to get a little bit extra out of them.
The first deal you got offered for £27/month is good! It's what I want but I can't get them to budge from £30/month even tho i get free weekend calls and the phone i wanted free.... I asked to be disconnected but they said they cant do that until I use my pac code (which they are sending) so im still stuck because unless i activiate it, im still with o2... any ideas anyone0 -
Got them down to £27/month and have taken it on an 18 month. Realistically no other mobile provider was going to match close to this and a 40% discount on the o2 45 is very reasonable
n78 free
1200 mins anytime
1000 texts
free weekends
1 meg internet0 -

Best approach is not to get arsey with them and just ask them outright what you are looking to achieve. Is it cost your looking to reduce or do you just simply want to get a new handset that may be chargeable to a new customer? Be realistic because they are not just there to give away phones for the fun of it, they want to give the customer the best deal but can’t let o2 lose money at the same time, this is why there is a budget in place.
It’s very hard to say how it much you get off, as it is specific to your contract. Yes deals look generic and people get the same as others but only because they may spend the same each month, pay their bills on time etc.
You need to remember they are only allowed to offer loyalty within reason usually within a budget so it’s no good ringing them up and saying right im off unless you do my deal for £10mth with a N95 8gb etc.
They are there to help and will give you a great deal based on your usage or future anticipated usage. i.e. it would be a bit silly offering someone 1000mins if they only use 137 per month just because their mate had that deal. the deal offered will be basic on your personal contract, this is why deals varies from person to person.
you will get a better deal than what you has been on and it will be very competitive usually to reward you for your loyalty. They are not stupid
and do realise that the deal you may have been on last year could be a lot better this year following market trends etc.
Also remember additional services like free unlimited bolt ons on certain plans, O2 treats (additional free allowances by dialling 2211) cheaper broadband and priority tickets to the O2 stadium to boost your loyalty rewards.
Hope this helps x0 -
On my N95 about 1.5 - 2 days now, I was getting 1 -1.5 before, it'll never be spectacular battery wise. The early firmware of the N95's was really bad, with the v21 software it's really good, the phone it should have been in the first place. The maps software works really well now as does wifi.
I believe there is a version 3 software now, haven't tried it as yet and unlikely to as it's working fine now. Well worth backing up the phone and giving it a go with the PC suite/Nokia site.0 -
