However there seem to be a lot of cases where people request their code, and O2 ringing them up later to try and offer them a better deal.
Thanks DJmilesno1
Just phoned up for my PAC, and the woman I spoke to asked why I had cancelled, after I explained, she said the guy I spoke to was wrong, and I managed to get:
Nokia N95 8GB
600 Minutes
1000 Texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet
and a £10 a month discount on my tariff, so I'm now only paying £25 a month.0 -
i upgraded last nov and got a new mobile (nokia something or other) with 1500 x-network off peak mins, 250 texts at £35 p month with cashback of about £150 do you think they can improve this time around? am certainly going to try:j0

Some forumites have got the Ignito 18 months contract £20 or £25 with 400+ any net any time minute, 1000 texts and unlimited web bolt-on so I am sure for a standard phone should be able to get a very good deal.
Call 202 from you handset then option 2 then 2 for retentions and just ask for PAC code but kind of play along with the rep.0 -
OK so after speaking to retentions I got offered for £30/month:
1200 mins
1000 texts
unlimited weekends
free n78 (the phone i wanted)
18 month contract
I really did want to drive it down to £25 but she was adamant they couldn't knock it below the £30 mark and the next one down (£25) would take the minutes down to 600 and there was nothing in-between.
You guys think I should take that or anyone know of any offers where I can haggle it down to £25? Ideally I could live with 800ish mins (free weekends) and about 500 texts as long as I had my free weekends.
Cheers..0 -
Do O2 still do the 1MB browsing with all online tariffs?0

apologies if this covered elsewhere but has anyone managed to get a good retention deal which incorporates a (free) IPhone??0

Just called through to retentions....was on £35p/m for 600 mins and 500 texts!
Said I wanted to cut my costs in half.
Got offered 600mins, 1000 texts, unlimited internet and O2 XDA Ignito - £20 p/m.
Think this is very reasonable and matches what others have got so I said yes!
Just phoned and went throught to retentions and the best they would offer me is £35 per month, 18mnth. 600/1000 unlim web. Ignito for 9.99.
My last tarrif was 600/500 no web. £35 per month reduced to £25.
Last 2 bills were in excess of £50
So I am now awaiting my PAC code
Told them I am looking at the HTC diamond on orange for £25 per month.0 -
Thanks to a call I made to retentions last time my contract ran out for the last 18 months I've been paying £17.50 per month for 750 anytime, any network mins and 100 texts. I have rarely gone over my text allowance and never gone over my calling miniutes (although I often hover around the 700 mark). I also got £100 credit for not taking a new handset.
I've just called to negotiate a new deal as my existing one ran out today. It took 3 seperate calls but I was finally offered...
800 anytime, any network mins (200 of these minutes are via a free bolt on)
1000 texts
All for a monthy cost of £20 for the whole duration of the 18 month contract. Apparently this in the Online 35 tariff with a £15 per month discount applied to it.
I also got £150 credit for again not taking a new handset
Taking into account the credit this works out at £11.66 per month.
How does this sound in comparison with what others are reporting on here? Should I snap their hand off or is there even better deals to be had for a similar allowance?0 -
I've just had this offer (and accepted):
XDA Ignito, 600mins, 500 txt, unlimited internet, 18 months £25.
I'm moving from a £25 (200mins, 125txts) with £15 discount tariff (so I was paying £10). I've had no new phone for the last 2 upgrades, and I needed the phone so I can dump GPS, PDA and get wireless internet. On top of my current tariff I only spent £40 in european calls back to the UK. So I'm not a big spending customer.
