has anyone managed to get a decent 12 month upgrade deal with upgrade discount on line rental with an n95 8gb?
i hear they are scrapping the online leisure plans from feb onwards (the off peak any-network plan) so i dont know how that will affect upgrade customers cos i know for a fact they'll try to get you off that plan and move onto something else.0 -
Petey, I do understand what you are saying about any handset being old news within 9 months. However the features you pointed to that would be old news I don't think will turn out to be correct. You said there will be better camera and storage and wifi range in the future. The Nokia N82 supports micro-SDHC memory cards which at the moment the highest capacity is 8Gb but SanDisk will over time be bringing out 16Gb and possible 32Gb. As with normal digital cameras there is a saturation point of megapixels where in fact just because you have more pixels it doesn't increase the quality of the photo - the nokia n82's camera is an impressive 5m camera with Carl Zeiss Optics and xenon flash: there will be improvements but not majorly fundamental ones (the xenon flash is one, and there isn't much point in havin megapixels much above 5m unless you wantin to make huge posters). Unless there is a major take up of Wi Max which has to be by Wifi and broadband providers which will not happen within 24m, increases in wifi range will have minimal impact.
So what significantly doesnt the Nokia N82 actually have that will make it majorly inferior to other products in the next 24 months?0 -
It is actually scandalous that mobile phone companies offer 18m and 24m contracts as well as 12m? Take o2 for instance, the exact same tariff is £5 cheaper on a 18m contract rather than a 12m contract and £5 cheaper again on a 24m contract. Is not a consumer's preference and choice?0

6 phone calls today and finally got:
12 MONTH contract
800 mins
1000 text
FREE N95 black 8gb
£35 per month
im happy with that.0 -
if your wife doenst need a new phone then the simplicity sim only deals are really good value, this doesnt tie you into another contract (just need to give 30 days notice if you ever want to cancel) and if a few months down the line your wife does want a new phone she can upgrade on a normal tariff and get the handsetThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

hi i am currently on 02 payg and spend about £40 per month. i want about 1000 txts and as many free mins to any network. a new phone would be nice also n82 n95 etc. anybody else on here had any good deals going from payg to contract? and help would be great.0

Well I was on o2 simplicity £15p/m for less than 2 months and I gave my 30 days notice to cancel but then phoned up a couple of days later saying i was interested in the nokia n82 and I was given this deal (I was even looking or asking for a deal):
£25p/m, 18m contract
Free Nokia N82
600 mins
1000 texts
o2 long weekends (free calls to anyone sat, sun, mon)
I suggest either you tell them you want to cancel to go with another mobile company on pay monthy OR go a simplicity tariff for a couple of months and then cancel - see if they offer you any deals. I think it really depends on the person in retentions you speak to, it is just luck. My call was on Wedenesday at 11am. Perhaps keep trying until you get a good deal from someone.0 -
hi if anyone due to renew o2 but its from carphone warehouse which i already did renew. they did give a wonderfull deal: pay nothing at all till month 11 and 12 which 30 pounds each but if i phone them when its about to renew in month11 I don have to pay those 2 months of 30 pounds and start a new contract with them. thats a best deal i ever had.0

I had another one but not so good deal for me. its from o2 retailers.
24months contract/ 20 pounds each. 200 any mins/50 texts. free se k810i but it change to k850i due to error/out of stock.
they said i am on business tariff so after 12 months i could upgrade to a free phone and still stay with this last 12 onths contract.
not sure if this a good deal or not??....0 -
