yes, I believe it is true, by about 2 or 3 to 1 ratio. ib, you'd be far better on 3, get new phone, 300 mix'n'match mins/txts plus 300 3 to 3 mins for £15 a month, plus quidco cashback.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I originally took out a £20pm 18 month contract with the LG Viewty after being told if I was unhappy I could change or cancel my contract within so many days (7 or 14).
I paid £40 for the viewty, but absolutely hated it for the first few days, but my other alternative (SE K850) has had bad reports and even the one I played with in a store shut down on me!
So I called asking to return the handset as i've had more than a few bad experiences with o2 recently, and they told me for £25 a month they'll let me have my same deal on a 12 month contract rather than an 18 month.
I've slowly grown used to my new phone and as I only have it for 12 months rather than 18 I dont mind putting up with it0 -
Hey , was just wondering if you thought this was a good deal...
Rang up 2020 today and followed the instructions to get through to the retentions department. I asked the guy on the phone for my Pac code immediately and he automatically asked why i wanted this number. I completely invented a contract of a free blackberry pearl2 8120 400 xnet minutes and 400 texts with 4mb blackberry roaming included for £24 a month.
The guy put me on hold and came back with offer number 1 ) 400 minutes and 1000 texts , with unlimited roaming and the free phone on an 18 month contract for £25. I asked if he could cut the cost if i was to remove some texts and i was placed on hold again .
Offer number 2came after the hold - Free phone, 500 minutes and 1000texts unlimited calls to 02 (thats any time to any o2 number) free roaming on the blackberry as they could not reduce the tariff all for £25 . I then told the guy i needed time to hunt for better offers , however i was told that o2 would pretty much beat any contract i brought to them as i am a high value customer.
I was just wondering if you think that i can improve this contract, Ideally i want this contract for £20 a month , do you think this is achievable ?
I think i will probably try my luck again tomorrow , to reduce the cost or reduce the length of contract. Why not i will try for both2007/2008 Targets

o2 are a buch of lying retards !!!!!!!!!!!
i was offered an 8gb n95 (black) back in dec but was sent the silver, which i returned. after argueing, they agreed to give me the black n95 when it arrives in jan.
Rang up today, and even after reading on the notes left by the previuos retention guy promissing me a black n95, the guy today blatently said 'i need to renegotiate a contract with them if i waqnt the n95-8gb and wont get it for less than £40/m on 18m contract'.
i told the previous retention guy promissed something else, and you have just read the notes to prove it. he replied, if i wanted that phone i have to renegotiate a contract? - he wouldnt budge?
i an 6 weeks into my new 18m contract and now he says i can renegotiate? can they do this? even tho they promissed me the n95-8gb when in stock as it says so on th e notes left.?
i just hung up on him as he really p****d me off !!!0 -
After a bunch of calls myself to 02 to renew my 18month contract (in sept), I managed to get them to discount my original 750mins+750texts to £20pm over 18months + a free O2 XDA and free co-pilot.
Having said that, the retention team is VERY hit and miss, with MANY calls afterwards to quadruple check the discount was applied. Well, it seems that they've double discounted me now (so I get 2 lots of identical discounts), meaning my tariff (along with the insurance cover) comes to only £2 pm!!! :rotfl::beer:
3 Months (after discount was finally applied) and the double discounts are still going! So sometimes, it's worth harassing them enough to make worthwhile mistakes!0 -
Wow you certainly have the luck of the irish ... i may try and get somewhere near that sort of tariff. Wha approach did you take with retentions ?2007/2008 Targets

I have seen that Virgin offer a SIM only,
300txts
300min
for £10ocm, and 1month notice to leave.,
Anyone been offered a similar deal with o2?
(saves having to unlock phone / get PAC)One day I want to be the pigeon...... and not the statue!0 -
Im on o2 simplicity (love the free o2 calls!), and waiting for the N82 BLACK to be released before jumping into a lengthy contract. Could be a long wait...0

Hello all,
Just rang retentions to get my Pac code as I had just finished setting up the Virgin £10 300 mins 300 texts offer.
Anyways got to talking and ended up taking this offer.
18 months
400 mins
500 texts
o2 long weekends.
£150 Cash back
£15 a month
£6.66 a month average which isn't to bad.
Tried and tried for samsung g800 but she wasn't having it for any less than £20 and no cash back. Also tried my best for 12 months but again not having it.
All in all I'm happy enough with the k800i I already have. useful for people with moderate useage and happy with their current phone.
Just have to call Virgin back now!

Woo hoo!
After acccepting a deal to renew with o2 for £30 PCM on an 18 month contract for the 8GB N95 on Friday, I just rang to cancel today because I wasn't entirely happy with it. I thought I'd rather buy the phone and get a dirt-cheap SIM deal...Anyway, I called them to cancel it, but they've just told me it went through for £25 PCM and not £30! Got the phone free too, as well as 800 mins, 1000 texts etc etc.
Not happy with the 18 month, but who cares?! Small-ish price to pay for a slight rise from my £20 PCM contract and a great free phone! Yay! :T
