These deals are likely retention only, you would need to take an inferior new connection deal and build up loyalty and reinvestment value to get these kind of mindblowing whooping good deals

Hi all,
First post so go easy
I am coming to the end of my 18 month £30 contract and really like the look of the new omnia. The online store does not seem to have it though. I was just wondering firstly when 02 are likely to stock this phone, i have seen it on Dialaphone with 02, but am a bit worried by these cash back offers.
Also, if i do threaten to leave 02, what sort of deal do you reckon i could get out of them? Seem as how the omnia is not around in their shop, i suppose the tocco is next best alternative, would it be worthwhile ringing up to see if i can get that free, definetly do not want to go over £30 a month!
Thanks in advance :beer:0 -

I have sent a private message with some useful info(hopefully)0 -
£20!!!??!! Where did you get this deal from please.
Thanks
The advice was posted a few pages back (bottom of 36) by another user, here is it pasted in:Vodafone's commercial rules for new connections are as follows:
1) Vodafone direct sales (08000 686570) can offer half price line rental for 15 out of 18 months or 9 out of 12 months on their standard tariffs. You can renegotiate in months 10 or 16 anyway.
2) Whatever you spend in total line rental over 18 months is also what you can spend on a handset (up to £300+vat).
Remember:
1) Don't pay for Saturday delivery! Free delivery, one months mobile TV (£10 value pack) and three months insurance should all be given free if asked for.
2) If you want the internet or "stop the clock" (definitely worth having) then make sure they are not added after the discount is negotiated. Both normally cost £5 each so get them included so they are viewed as making a £40 tariff a £50 tariff THEN discounted rather than seen as a £10 addition to a £20 (after discount) tariff.
3) Don't expect to be readily offered all this without asking. It's worth saying that you know a friend got just such a deal etc.. Actually, to avoid the bartering preamble my sister just phoned up, said she was offered a particular deal and that she got cut off. Naughty but worked a treat!
4) I reckon it's worth switching to Vodafone for the Nokia E66 alone.
Good luck anyone who jumps. Even if you don't it's always handy to tell your preferred network what's available and invite them to beat it.
I rang vodafone to make sure it was legit, and it was. Although the bloke wasn't that keen to give me the diamond for less the £25pm, and the SE C902 instead for £20. Still I wanted something conrete to pester O2 with and it worked. O2 lady was very shocked at the £20pm vodafone offer, but after going away for a few mins she came back and matched it straight away, albeit with 1000 texts rather than unlimited.
Who am I to complain, I use about 400-500 texts a month max :rotfl:
Good luck out there !!0 -
just got the following deal - do you reckon it's any good?
free nokia 6220 classic
400 anytime / network minutes
1000 texts
free o2 to o2 calls
15 quid a month (18 month contract)
This was the first offer out of the bag - good enough for what i use a phone for. i am wondering how hard i could have pushed now though!!!0 -
After some serious reading of this thread, I called O2 last week as my contract was due for renewal and I really quite wanted a new phone and a better deal. I was on a bit of a joke of a tarriff - £25 for 100 mins and 300 texts, 1mb data. I also really wanted an N95 8GB, but it seemed clear from the thread that it was a bit of a no-go. Decided to call anyway, quoting the deal on Three: £30 for 700 mix & match mins/txt and the N95 8GB.
So I explained to retentions that I wanted to leave as I'd seen this off on Three, and they asked me to hold while they put some deals together. Came back 2 minutes later with the following:
Free N95 8gb
600 mins
1000 txts
Free unlimited data bolt-on
... for £30 a month discounted from £35.
Obviously it's not the bargain of the century (to be fair they offered the same deal but with the 6220 or c902 for £20 per month), but it was a price I was happy to pay especially to get the phone I wanted. They were also going to offer me a deal on home broadband before I explained we had cable and the person who installed it had ripped out our BT line (don't start me on this...).
Thanks for the bargaining tips in this thread, everyone. I was well prepared to fight further with O2 but it turned out I didn't need to!0 -
Andymufc.
Ring Vodafone (number on the website)
Say you want to leave O2 and can they offer you...
600mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited browsing for £20.
They will say yes.
Then you need to haggle for a phone (i only got a nokia 6220 navigator for free, you might be able to get better.)
Then if o2 ring up... tell them thats what you have been offered. They should match it.
If not.. go to vodafone!0 -
No luck, just rang them, they stick to £35. Seoncd time I tried.0
