I agree you should just contact them and see what they can offer you? If you go instore and show them your phone isn't working they might be able to advise.
You've said your happy enough so sign a new contract anyways but it might be that they'll add on 18 months to the end of your current contract so that you will have 22 months left. does that make sense??
if not there are a number of cheap phones on ebay or even in phone shops that you could pick up to tide you over. Then sell them on the various sites that are on the net (I guess I cant post these?) that refurbish them etc.

Spoke to O2 retentions and mentioned the above offer from vodafone directsales. She wasn't aware of the diamond being free on that tariff but went away for a bit. Came back and:
- O2 XDA indigo/ignito (whatever it is called with them)
- 600 anytime mins
- 1000 texts
- Unlimited web
- 18months
:money::money::money:£20pm :money::money::money:
Only worrying thing was that I got the correct phone and not some old XDA crap, but no indigo seen on the web so must have been my hearing.
I was on for £25pm, 500 mins + 3months rollover, 500 texts @12months.
Great upgrade and easy as nails. I just said that I was thinking of leaving now as I have the great deal from vodafone retentions. Last years free SE handset was pants and i now need to web and a smartphone because of work, plus the vodafone offer is very tempting. Never even mentioned PAC just 'Im thinking of leaving because of SAID tempting Vodafone offer'.
Good luck out there.
Got the same deal on Friday. Rang customer retentions at O2 and said I was leaving as they didn't supply the phone I wanted (Samsung Omnia). Was offered the Ignito (had to go away and check it out to find it was the HTC Touch Diamond). Easy.
How do you send 1000 txts per month? Or am I naive? (I average perhaps 10 - more of a talker)0 -
Does anyone know if the iphone is available on a retention deals, would quite like the iphone but the tarrifs available are that expensive that, when compared to a retention deal, it isn't really worth having.
Anyone know anything more on this?0 -

When I asked they quoted the standard from the web site.
I got offered n95 (normal) for £15 400talk 400 txt. What is difference with 8gb and normal does it matter?0 -

The N95 8GB has a bigger screen and a bigger battery so battery life is better. It also has 8GB of internal flash storage, hence the name.
What you do get with the original N95 but not with the 8GB is a memory card slot, which you could stick a microSD card as large as 16GB in. So it's potentially a better buy in the sense that its memory is expandable, it's cheaper and all the other features are essentially the same.0 -

They don't seam to want to keep me this year, they made no offers to me what so every, I was going to leave for the Samsung Omnia on Vodafone but after reading their forum it looks like the phone has a number of annoying problems.
I have gone onto the £15 simplicity tariff at the moment so I will be saving an extra £10 per month.
Anyone know when the HTC Touch Pro or Google Android phones are due to be released?0 -
Impd, if you don't get a satisfactory result, try again, don't give up0

Little advice..
Right now Im on an 18month contract and have been paying £40/month for 1200 minutes/unlimited weekend calls + 200 texts and 1 meg net AND I had to fork out £100 for the N95..
I want a better deal this time as I've spent a ridicilous amount on bills with them this year...
I'm basically looking for the new iphone (like most) for around the same deal I've got but for MUCH LESS... anyone know what would be the best I could hope for or deals I could compare with? Also what is the best number to call O2 on for upgrades/retentions to get the best deals?0
