Well the way it usually works is that your line rental is taken out of the credit on the account- so if you have £150 credit on the account and your are on say a £25 per month contract then O2 will not take any money out of your bank account for six months:). Personally I would get them to spread the discount over the contract so there are no surprises later on but the choice is up to you:).

Has anyone managed to get a release date for the C905 from o2?

I've seen posts about people being offered it on it's release,but no body mentioned a release date, unless I missed it.

Depends what deal you got- for that it usually would be around the 200mins/400 texts mark on a contract but clearly that changes all the time;).

Just spoke to retention's, i was on texter 35, £35 a month for 600 mins and 1000 text, i've been offered the XDA Ignito (HTC touch Diamond) 600 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited browsing for £20 a month.
I wanted the Omnia and was going to switch to Orange but this seemed like a great deal.:T

I'm after a bit of advice,

O2 and they offered me the N78 with 600 mins 1000 texts and unlimited web for £20 a month (18 month contract), this wasn't the phone I wanted, ideally only one I wanted was N95 8GB.

I called back and explained that I didn't want the phone and the guy convinced me to wait until the N96 or C905 came out stay on simplicity with tariff above for £20 and I would then be able to negotiate on these new phones with my loyalty. Does this sound like a good thing to do? He said he couldn't sign me up to a contract and say I would get the phone when it comes out.

As a side note my average usage in the last 3 months was 38 mins and 108 texts, so was quite happy with my 200 mins and 400 text tariff but want a decent phone

If you're going to go with Simplicity, with your low usage why not go on the cheapest one while you wait? You're not going to exceed the allowances in any case.

O2 are trying quite hard to make their subsidy cutback on the handsets such as the N95 8GB stick, so perhaps you should seek out offers from the other networks and find a comparable deal.

The N96 and C905 are potentially worth waiting for, especially the latter since Sony Ericsson phones seem to, as a rule, have better battery life than the Nokia handsets.
