It's coming to that time for upgrade with 02 again after my 18 months is nearly up!! I've spent an absolutely ridicilous amount with them this year, probably in the region of £2000... I'm on a £45/month tarrif with 1200 minutes, 200 texts and unlimited weekend calls to any network...
I really want to reduce the tarrif to £30 if I can help it or £25 or lower would be even better!! Ideally I'd like 800-1000 minutes to play around with and 200 texts is about right.. what do you guys think I can expect from o2 if anything, and does anyone know of any networks that could offer good deals based on this?
I'm hoping o2 offer me something based on my spending with them this year!0 -
We used to get the most up to date phone on £25 tariff every 12 months, been with O2 forever, but last few years we have been unable to get latest phones unless on £35 month upwards, and 18/24 month contract...0

Have you considered an 02 sim only deal
600 xnet mins + 1000 txts + Unlimted landline calls
all for just £ 20 pm plus you are only tied in for 30 days at a time .
compared with a £35 pm standard contract you will save £270 in 18 month .
Plenty to buy a top phone sim free off ebay maybe & your not tied to any long contract .

Have a look on the Retention Thread 2 and you'll see other people's experiences. Though seeing as your spend appears to be way above what most MSE posters have, you are a rather more valuable customer, one they would be more reluctant to let another operator take, I am sure0

Just been offered as a retention deal:
500mins/500txt
No handset - Credit instead
18month contract
Works out at £7per month.0 -
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their help!
Was on a simplicity rate but phone died at the weekend so had my eyes on the new Nokia 6220. I phoned retentions they offered me phone for £99 with £35 tariff. Tried ringing again but same answer.
Tried a third time this evening and have now been offered the phone for free and the online 35 deal for £24 - pretty happy with that! The guy was very friendly and was eager to offer me the deal.
Definitley worth trying and trying0 -
Anyone moved from Discount 500 tariff to a great deal recently?0

Has anyone managed to get any of the following phones from o2 retentions recently? (Either immediately or on a promise of when they're released)
Samsung Omnia

Nokia N96
HTC Diamond
Thanks0
