Well im mighty ****** off at O2, i called cancellations yesterday to see what deal i could haggle out of them. I figured it would be easy to get what i wanted considering ive been with them for 3 years on 3x12 month contracts and must have spent well over £1000 in this time. I also thought that it would be even easier if i gave them an earfull over last years "renewal" - (they offered me a free phone with no strings attatched because id been such a loyal customer, they swore it wasnt a renewal so i accepted. Then a week or so later i called up to negotiate my renewal and was informed by accepting the phone i had already renewed!)
So bearing all that in mind i was expecting an "easy-ride" but it turned into a nightmare, none of the phones i wanted were available and there is no release date on O2 yet (Omnia, INNOV8, C905, N96, HTC Diamond).
The best she could offer me was a C902 on with 1200 mins, 1000 texts + a free bolt-on of unlimited texts or internet for £30p/m (should be £45 to the average joe but i get £15 discount and have done for 2 years). Considering i currently pay £20 per month for 400 mins and 1000 texts i was somewhat disappointed, a 50% bigger bill just for an extra 800 mins and a free bolt-on with a phone i dont even want. She was adamant i wasnt entitled to anything more and when i quoted other peoples deals through O2 she said they werent possible, she was a !!!!!! Also she completely bulsh*tted me about my average monthly spend saying it was £25 wheras i calculate it to be just under £50!
I called back a few times today but have been unable to negotiate anything better, ive been offered this though - move onto a simplicity deal until the Omnia is released then have it free (allegedly) on the contract ive already been offered £30pm, 1200 mins, 1000 texts + free bolt-on
I want to spend £20 or less though0 -
Trying to find best number to contact O2 retentions. Have searched this thread but can't find it. Can anyone help?Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0

You can just dial 100 or 202 from your O2 phone - depending on your calling plan it will either be free or covered by your inclusive minutes. You do have to navigate some options, basically follow the path as if you're planning to cancel your contract.0

Hi
I've just rang O2 to see if i could get anythingfrom them in retentions. This is what they offered me:
I did ask for the N95 8Gig but was told it was out of stock and they did not know when it would be back in, yet on the O2 site it says that the phone is in stock so i am not sure why i was told it was out of stock.
Any how they tried to give me the N78 or the E51 but i said no to both. I asked about the Nokia 6620 classic and the offered me the following:
Nokia 6220 classic (free)
600 mins
1000 texts
Unlimited Internet
All for £25 p/m on 18 contract. I am currently on the Simplicity only.
This deal seems to be what most people seem to be getting on here lately? :rolleyes:0 -
Thought id repost this as i could use someones opinion

What do you guys think?
I assume that you this offer was mine, I can assure that this was offered to me. Dont forget each customer will be treated differently and will look at your spend and useage. I had it all come in the post of what I was offered.0 -

I dont doubt that people were offered these but im gutted she said they werent possible. What do you mean it came in the post?
My last 10 o2 bills come to £473.00, i should be highly valued surely?
She told me the same as the other people at o2 - i can only have my loyalty discount of £15 used on tariffs of £45 or above. I managed to get her to stumble into offering me a 40% discount on £45 tariffs making them £27pm if i only take one bolt-on.0 -
FU510N, personally I think what Lisa offered you was pretty good. £30 for a free phone, 1200 mins, 1000 texts and 2 unlimited bolt ons (worth £7.50 each) is not too bad.
What I'm not clear about is how many minutes/texts you actually need? You say you were on 400 mins and 1000 texts but were constantly going over, so I assume you have looked over your usage and come to the realisation that you need 1200 minutes, 1000+ texts?
I don't know how great those phones are, but I think you would be wasting a bolt on with the unlimited texts when you already get 1000 - unless you honestly use way more than 1000 texts per month??
They are offering you unlimited internet - is this something you will use? And what is the 'footy deal'?.
A lot of those comparison retention deals that you quoted below are nowhere near the amount of minutes you are being offered - comparing a 200 minute deal with one for 1200 is hardly like for like - that is why I think you need to be clear about what you actually need. None of the deals you mentioned below are getting anywhere near the 1200 mins, and some of the really good ones on monthly spend are not getting a new phone - perhaps you will be offered a good credit if you don't take a phone.
Why not see what they can do for you on if you dropped the 1200 mins to 600 (if that works for you) and changed one of the unlimited bolt ons to unlimited weekends/or unlimited landlines if you need to bolster your minutes? Maybe it will be a lot closer to the £20 you want to spend?0 -
