Hi, I've been reading some of the deals are getting and they're really good
I have two contracts coming up on their last month soon.
I am currently on 400mins 500txt for £35 a month, I've only been over this maybe 3/4 times, I am after a N95 8GB with similar mins, not to bothered by txt and the unlimited data, if possible push for unlimited o2 to o2 with less mins but that isn't vital.
The second contract is the same as above but regularly goes over the mins, for this one I am after a sim only offer, preferably more mins, but same with o2 to o2 would be great.
What are the best offers I should try for?
Is it best to ring up when I have a month left or should I wait till within a few days of my contract finishing? Also is it worth mentioning when I ring that I have a second contract I want to cancel or should I just try separately?
Sorry for the long post, hope someone can advise
Thanks.
Go for as a minimum- 600 minutes/unlimited texts for 25 quid a month with a decent phone on a 12 month contract. I think that taking an 18 month contract nowadays is not really a viable option, unless you really want a swish phone aka the Iphone:). SIM only deals coupled to the price of relatively cheap PAYG phones mean that the consumer really shouldn't have to put up with 18 month deals unless they want a particular phone;).0 -
I'm currently with O2 on £15 a month sim only contract for which I get 200mins and 200texts, now I only really need about 75 texts and 50 mins, my average use. O2 to O2 free calls would be good too, I don't get those at the mo.
I rang them today as my current phone has bit the dust, a sony ericsson W810i, which I love.
I would like a W890i and after the second call they have offered me either an 18month contract at £16 a month line rental (20% discount) paying £26 for the phone for 75mins an 125 texts.... or the same on 24months at £12 line rental paying £17.62 for the phone.
I'm trying to get the line rental as low as poss, plus get the phone but don't need tonnes of texts or minutes.
Shall I ask for my pac code and see where that gets me? I've been with them ages, and I've already told them I wasn't happy that when they put me on the £15 a month tariff they told me it was a special deal.... and then I saw it advertised for anyone the next week!0 -
I'm with O2 Carphone Warehouse coming to the end of my contract & I called retentions last week to ask for PAC code so I could shop around. I was offered a SIM only deal instead (but told that if I asked for the PAC I wouldn't be eligible for the offer) of 200 x-network anytime mins/month (not sure how many texts) with a credit of £300on a £25/month contract for 12 months. I was astounded at the £0/month overall cost and stupidly said I'd think it over. Doh!
Called back today to accept (and check the number of texts included) and was informed that the £25/month offer is for 75 minutes and 200 texts. She told me that her colleague had been mistaken as the 200 minute offer was £30/month . Do you think it's worth calling again to see if I can get the 1st offer again? It did seem a bit too good to be true and I suppose and overall cost of £5/month isn't much for 200 mins, but I'm not sure I'd go over 75 minutes very often if it's going to cost me £60 for the privilege (if I curb my calls a bit).
I'd also quite like to have some surfing time included (don't do much now but that's because I'm stingy) - although it's not overly important at the moment. But I've not asked about that.
Although I called Carphone Warehouse, shoudl I also be calling 02 directly to ask about deals?0 -

You got given rubbish deals. Just quote Virgin Mobile doing 300 mins and ??? texts for £10 on a rolling monthly contract see where that gets you.0 -
Hi all,
i managed to get my wife the 200m/ 400t/ unlimited 02 to 02 calls deal for £10p/m with £150 credit on 18m contract- obviously without the phone, but she is happy! took 2 calls to get it done, the first woman offered £10 a month and the same mins/texts but no credit so called back and explained that a new phone was not needed so is there credit available, and there was!
thanks guys!!
on another note, my upgrade is due this week, what is the cheapest line rental anyone has got with the samsung toco? ideally i'd want to pay £15 a month and get the phone free- is that likely???
