I ordered my handset on saturday, and got the same deal as a couple of other people.

    Sony Ericsson C902 (Free)
    600 Minutes
    1000 Texts
    Free unlimited WAP.

I phoned about half hour before that and was only offered 400mins, 1000 txts, no WAP on a £30 a month tariff.
I said no thanks, i'll take my PAC code and they phoned me back half hour later with the offer i accepted.

is this a 12 or 18 month contract
which phone has best camera c902 or n95

    thanks
  • Does anyone have the direct line number for O2 retentions. I can only ever get through to their first line operatives who can't really offer anything worthwhile.

I just renewed and got the same deal.

This was on my 4th attempt though. The first three I had mistakenly made to the Customer Services team (202, then press 2 then 1) rather than the Sale/Retention team (202, then press 2 and 2 again). I mentioned this deal to CS and they said that they couldn't offer it to me and that if I wanted unlimited browsing it had to be a £35/month tariff.

I recounted the above to the girl in Sales/Retentions - she laughed and said that CS have very limited powers and S/R have more discretion and the ability to do better deals to keep your custom.

So, the moral of the story is make sure you speak to the right team - press the button for cancellations (2) even if you know very well that what you want is an upgrade. Pressing (1) for upgrade takes you to CS....

does anyone know how highly the E51 is seen as? i am due for an upgrade and would like the E51 and the minimum monthly line rental that is possible...should i start at saying i want to pay max of £10 p/m and hope they will offer that? Also, what kind of deals do they offer for an upgrade with no new phone? my otherhalf wants a new deal with the cheapest monthly rental, and she doesn't need a new phone, so could she go with something like £10p/m line rental and £150 cash back over 18 months???

thanks for all your help guys
  • for 02 retentions call 202 option 2.....just got them to match a e2save tariff...end result is 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited data, a new n95 (not 8gb) for £21 a month

I was on O2 Sim-only, 75 mins (with a 20 min treat to give me 95) and 250 texts, free O2/O2 calls for £10 per month. I am a relatively low user since I have a company phone that's on O2 too!

I saw a better deal on Orange so phoned in for my PAC Code. I was asked where I was intending to go... and ended up with:

    200 mins
    400 text
    free O2/O2 calls

....for £15 per month with a £150 credit on an 18 month contract. That works out at £120 for the 18 months (8x£15).

Over the full 18 months, that's £6.66 per month.

I think both £10 per month sim only deals on Orange beat the deal he had. Dolphin 10 gives you 150 anytime mins and 300 texts with unlimited evening and weekend texts and Racoon 10 gives you 225 minutes 100 texts and unlimited evening and weekend calls to landlines. But if you do use these as a comparison and dont get offered what you want don't give up, just try calling back later asking for your PAC code.

I was on a rubbish £20 per month deal until last month, called up to try and get a deal matched but couldn't agree on anything so he put me on simplicity 15 until i wanted to upgrade telling me all upgrade options and bonuses i had built up would still be available to me if i wanted to upgrade at a later date but i called back today to try and get a deal matched on the N95 8GB and was just told "theres no way we can come close to matching that deal for you" and she offered me the same deals new customers get on the website telling me i lost my loyalty bonus when i switched to simplicity. Obviously i was not very happy, told her i wanted my pac code and was leaving to which she said "sorry your leaving, pac code will be texted to you, goodbye"

I called back 10 mins later asking for PAC code again and spoke to a very nice lady who did a bit of back-and-forth with me and ended up offering N95 8gb free with 200 mins, 400 texts, unlimited data for £27.50 per month (discounted from £32.50 per month, i think) or a 6220 classic with the same tariff but for £22.50 per month. I can't find any deals to beat these offers anywhere i look and o2 wont offer any better because i'm a low user and her boss will "probably smack her for offering this deal anyway" ( hmm.. not sure about that but made me laugh anyway)

Now i don't know which one to take, i did want the N95 but dont know if i like it £5 per month more and when i said i wanted that phone the woman started reading out a warning they are giving to customers now due to the unreliabity/instability of the N95. Anyone else been put off by this warning or give me advice on which one to choose, N95 8gb or 6220 classic?

Just helped one of my colleagues get a new deal.

Samsung Tocco - Free of charge

    24 Month Contract

£40.00 per month with a 40% discount = £24.00 or £22.00 seems to be a bit of debate about this.....

    1200 Anytime X Net Mins
    1000 Texts
