Ive been with o2 since mobile phones were invented!! Approx 12 years.
When I called them up to discuss an upgrade they offered me very little in comparison to the deals Ive seen other companies promoting.
Obviously o2 know they have excellent coverage and UK only based call centres but Im not sure that justifies the cost.
Anyway I keep hearing about how as soon as you cancel the contract which I have done then the company will be back on the phone offering you deals to change your mind. Do o2 do this?
Ive seen a few phones but Im tempted to wait a couple of weeks incase o2 try this,
Out of interest what are the deals on other networks that 02 don't compare with. It's someone else's fault.0 -
Currently paying £10.50 PM paid £50 for samsung soul (broke soon after contract started now using nokia 7373) on 24 month contract 50 mins unlimited texts.
I want a nokia can i get a good deal like the N8?
PS: Ive been with o2 since bt cellnet my dd is on o2 payg spending £10 PM and DS Paying £16.50 a month for BB Torch (will this give me a better deal?)0 -
I've got two contracts with o2.
One is up for renewal. Currently get 600 mins. 500 texts (mms included), unlimited data, free 02 to 02. for £28, I got a free refurb 3GS with this 18 months ago.
I've since bought an iPhone 4. So don't want a phone.
Not sure what to do, try and get a decent deal on an iphone 4, sell it and keep the cash for when the iphone 5 comes out in case I want that. Or just move to sim only.
Either way think I'll be leaving o2, tesco and 3 have much, much better iphone 4 deals, and everywhere seems to have better sim only deals. And since retentions don't, erm, try to retain customers any more, I may as well go elsewhere.Sigless0 -

I'm "gold tier" with o2 so can upgrade 3 months early but when I called they were less than useless!!!
I want the Galaxy S2 and the best they can offer is as per the website for any new customer - 24 months, 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500MB internet for £32 p/m - but the phone is £99 up front!
I told her Three were doing 500 mins, 5000 texts and 1GB internet for £30 p/m but the phone for free but this made no difference at all!
Oh well, looks like Three will be gtting my business in September!!
Unfortunately my handset didnt work (knackered battery) so it went back. Im considering ringing them today to try and get a Sensation instead, my contract expires tomorrow so im free to do a runner if I dont get a decent deal.0 -

I phoned o2 retentions today, who said they could try to price match ,I quoted the same offer from 3, o2 offered me Samsung Galaxy S2 free, 600mins, unlimited tex and 500MB for £32.00 I took it and I am pretty happy with the deal0 -
Called o2 today. Asked them to price match three's iPhone 4 deal. Said they couldn't, best they could do was £37 per month and £70 for the phone.
When I asked of they did customer loyalty any more, she said yes, and the handset is taking it all up. So I asked her to explain why new customers get that deal then, she couldn't answer.
TBH, I'm happy with the reception on o2, my entire family are on o2 so it's cheaper me to call them/them to call me. But they're more expensive than everyone else, and couldn't give a crap about their customers. So screw em'Sigless0 -
Just spoke to retentions...
Got:
12 month sim-only contract (keeping my handset)
600 minutes
Unlimited texts
100Mb data (my average usage is 20Mb per month)
£50 M&S voucher
for £13.50 a month
:money:
Who needs to spend hundreds of pounds a year just to have an iPhone? Most people apparently based on Apple's recent results.0 -
My contract with o2 is due to expire and I am considering moving to giffgaff. Trouble is, I also receive £5 discount on o2's broadband. Will o2 take that away from me straight away? My Mum is on o2 PAYG but does not live with me - would I be able to perhaps register the phone under my name and claim the £5 that way?0
-
Yes, you can use any 02 mobile number you like (as long as it's not already being used for another broadband discount). There doesn't have to be any family connection whatsoever. However she will need to top up with a minimum £10 per quarter to keep the discount. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
