But this is an O2 to O2 upgrade, always with CPW. Their own info says the number will just be transferred but you cannot proceed through the online upgrade process without filling in the PAC field :wall:.

So, not only will they not honour the deal (no surprise really) but the snarky "lad" at E-sales insisted no such deal had ever been on the CPW website. It was obviously an error that was pulled quickly, but he basically called me a liar. Despite the fact I have the offer and my "basket" saved and printed out!

I've submitted my request for termination of contract and PAC. Sod 'em.

  • Hi all, Any ideas when the best time is to phone the retentions team? I dont generally have the chance to call during the day due to work commitments

    Thanks
  • looks like I'm going to get a spare 20 minutes this morning, can anyone confirm the retentions team number?

    Thanks
  • As my contract is about to expire in a month I was looking for a free/cheap iPhone4 similar to my current contract (£35pm 600min/500texts/unlimited data) as my current iPhone 3G is dead. Annoyingly o2 offered pretty weak upgrade options online so thought I'd look at my options elsewhere.

Saw the 3 offer of £35pm and £29 handset for the white iPhone 4, also the upgrade offer on mobiles.co.uk which I'd be able to get hefty cashback on but preferred to avoid them if I could.

Got put through to retentions and explained the 3 offer I was looking to move to and the lady I spoke to offered me a free white iPhone 4 with 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data for £37pm (24 months) so pretty similar to what I've got. Happy with that as got a free handset of the phone I wanted without paying much more.

I phoned 2302 on my phone and then you just go through the options to cancel/upgrade.

  • Phoned O2 just now after requesting PAC code 10 days ago looking to move to orange. Saw O2 now have the HTC sensation in. Retentions offered me £32 pm 24 month contract, 600 mins, unlim txts, 500 data, 25 mms free phone. Declined- it's the same offer as on website for new customers.. Please!
Bye O2, I've been with you since you were bt genie 10 years now

O2 are absolutely awful with retentions. I have been on contracts with them for over 3 years and the best they offered me was exactly the same as new customers and didn't budge. I could have saved money by cancelling and going to Quidco instead, but found a better deal with another network.
    Moneysaver and proud :)
