My 18mth contract expires next month and I wanted to renew, so I rang up yesterday but was not happy with any of the deals they offered. So today I rang again and was offered and accepted this deal:
Brand new iPhone 3GS 8GB
300 mins
Unlimited texts
500MB data
20 picture msgs
and free wifi
All on a 24 mth contract, at £21.50 per month.
Is this a good deal as I was previously on a £35 a month iPhone contract but with 600 mins?0 -
I tried to get O2 to price match an offer I saw with T-Mobile last night but they wouldnt budge. My contract expires in July and the offer I saw was:
FREE Samsung Galaxy S2
4 months free line-rental
600 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
500mb Data
£24pm
O2 retentions told me the best they could do was:
500 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
500mb Data
£27pm and the handset would cost £59.
Now thats not a terrible deal but I can get better elsewhere so I asked for my PAC code and im leaving next month. I probably would have been tempted if they had waived the fee for the phone. Does anyone know if O2 call to try and tempt you back with better offers?0 -

yes, I just meant after they had already given you your PAC code and told you 'thanks for being an O2 customer, we are sorry we couldnt retain you'.
I have been tempted to call them back today and ask them if they would waive the fee for the phone but I may as well just wait and see if they call me. If not theres plenty of good deals with other networks.0 -

Dont' be expecting a phone call, they'll be glad to see the back of you. (not you personally) For every 1 person that leaves 3 more will join on a brand new tariff with no discount needed for them.
They have been stingy for ages and totally indifferent about customers leaving.
Their buisness model for this year seems to be, Less value, Less customers.0 -

I think they learned a lesson from what they used to do to retain customers. Too many people like me paying well under £5 pm for tariffs with limitless landline and O2 to O2 calls.
I moved to Orange, via e2save, with the result that Orange are now losing money on the wife and me - around £3 pm net for the contract this time, but with data thrown in as well.
And so it goes on............:cool:0 -
I have just been on O2's online chat thing and was told I could upgrade today even though offical date is 23rd June, best they would offer me was either
£32 Contract of 300mins plus text and 500mb phone cost £205 or
£37 Contract of 600mins plus text and 500mb phone cost £105
Am I likely to get better by waiting and ringing and going through to retentions? or should i just get one of the offers available that include a free phone the link for which i showed the person I was chatting to, he basically told me to go ahead and do so..0 -

300 mins
Unlimited texts
500mb data
20 free picture messages
Free Wi fi
HTC Desire S - 24 Month Contract for £18.50
Was this a good deal or have i been diddled?
has anyone else managed to get a similar offer as it seems really good.0 -
I'm planning on calling tomorrow - my contract ends 20th july. So think I can call from tomorrow???
I really want an Iphone 4 and am planning on going with 3 - will see what they offer me.0 -
They will probably start calling you! I have been bombarded with calls from 3 different numbers asking me if I want to upgrade but the only deal on the table is rubbish.
Samsung Galaxy Ace
300 mins
Unlimited texts
500mb internet for £26
I currently get 600 mins for that price, so it's hardly an upgrade.
Keep finding good deals for the Galaxy S2 but they disappear as quickly as I find them. Found a great deal on CPW online site under Upgrades, have got it in my basket but won't let me complete transaction without a PAC. If I phone up to sort it out I loose £60 Quidco!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
