Or the fact you took an old model. .

Negative. At the time of the deal the 3GS was the latest model.

So it was the equivalent of a free upgrade from a 3GS to an iPhone 4 now.

If anyone is interested, o2 will price match the iPhone 4 black or white with any major network which can be seen on their website. The price match is the handset cost and the closest tariff cost, not allowance. 35pm with three will be 37pm with o2..

Cheapest really would be the Three deal at 35pm £29 handset cost.

Do you have a link for this? I can't see it mentioned on the website.
    Thanks.

i phoned the upgrade line (not retentions) tonight as I can now upgrade - I've been with o2 since about 1995/6 constantly on contract although i did go onto payg for 1 month last year then back on contract.

Anyway, I currently pay £13 odd a month (invaribly bills are @20 a month) for 300 mins, unlimited text and 500 data on a 12mth contract.

They have said that if I want a new phone I have to go to an 18mth contract and increase the charge to £37 for the same limits as I have,or I can carry on as I am on a 12mth contract, but with no phone, no credit to my bill - when I asked what incentive there was to stay with them if they weren't going to give me anything for upgrading, he said you get the priviledge of staying on a 12mth contract at a low charge which we don't offer anymore.

I'm a bit peeved tbh as expected at least something so have started to have a scout about but having always been with o2 direct, I'm not really sure what companies to trust who to avoid etc.

Thanks for bearing with me on a long post!! and am grateful for any guidance you can give.x
Try Tesco. They have some cracking deals on sim only for a tenner a month and you will still be on the O2 network. Buy the phone you want on PAYG with Tesco or anyone else, or even e-bay and away you go.
    Hope this helps.
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

A link to the price matching? It'sa retentions offer that's only supposed to be offered when a customer is leaving to a competitor so it's not adverstised..

Coming to the end of a 24 month contract through Mobiles, phone + 600 mins and unlimited texts @ £25 a month. I do not need another phone so what is the best I can hope for ? I can also drop the minutes to 300 if necessary.
  • I genuinley phoned o2 today to cancel my sim only account of £20.42 I was seriously under using and liked the look of a free HTC Wildfire S on Talk mobile. o2 offered me and i accepted:-

    Unlimited texts
    500mb data
    20 free picture messages
    Free Wi fi

    HTC Desire S - 24 Month Contract for £18.50

Was this a good deal or have i been diddled?
